@sstomcat I am unaware of the exact reasons for the supply of kangaroo leather with Vass.
Perhaps the convenience of dealing with an Italian supplier would be central amongst their considerations.



Vass has built a few pairs of balmoral dress boots (arguably trickier to build) from the Aus-tanned kangaroo so I assume they are not displeased with that leather.


From what I have seen, the leather from joeys (young kangaroos) are quite pristine and its grain structure is not far off from good calf.
Will have some photos this weekend on the kangaroo leather.

I received my boots today. I cannot really were this pair till winter comes. It is very hot now in Hong Kong. 34C/93F.....

Fit is OK, but the first and second hook from the top almost fully close. What do you guys do in such a case? Tan pad?

Could someone please save me from myself and kop the heavily discounted gladiatior from Ascot in 42.5. I've got it on watch and my hand's signing cheques ****** can't cash just now. Help a brother out?

Those are cool. I always enjoyed bestetti gladiator. That makeup looks best on an aggressive last I think

^^ This. I can't understand why they picked that last. On the U or K this would be the bomb. I'm not quite convinced about the scotchgrain either contrast calf would be enough, suede maybe.

Anyone any experience with the wide G fitting on the U last? Would it spoil the line of the shoe?
If so then I will be going for the Budapest oxford on F last, anyone tried this? how does it look please?
