Lunch sounds like it might be a good idea, but since they have no Bourbon Co. I'm not going to make the trip, especially since my haul last Monday.

I will let you know if i see it again. Going to speak with the guy who does the ordering.

I should have purchased more. I was thinking that $4 for a bottle was super expensive. lol

Not at all and if it's vintage Bourbon County, you are getting a steal and you should buy up as much as you can!!! '08 is by far the best year, it's the same year and base as Rare...

yes. 2008 was the year. I found it sitting on the bottom shelf where they have all the misc. bottles of Goose Island. That is where the good stuff is at Flair... on the bottom shelf where they put all of the older bottles and incomplete 4 or 6 packs.

For those of you that have placed special orders from a liquor store, do you get charged any less? I was just wondering because I placed an order for a case of beer that my local store does not carry usually, but it wasn't a problem for them to get it for me. I know stores have different policies. But has anyone gotten charged less since it doesn't sit out on the shelf?

I have a few places that will knock a few bucks off for orders I place, but you usually have to be pretty buddy buddy with the owner. What I appreciate more than the discounts are the stores that listen to what your interests are and actually stock their shelves with your recommendations... the place around the corner from me, I think I'm responsible for about a 1/3rd of their micro beer selection.... lol, and he'll come running over to me when I walk in and apologize if he's out of stock on one of my favorates (particularly modus).

What year Abyss was this?

I have a 2009 that is going to be aged a bit alongside an 09 Goose Island Bourbon Co Stout. Maybe I will requote myself in 5 years.

Your lineup seems pretty eclectic, but must have been fun.

it was this years. You might want to be careful with that 09 abyss. I believe thats the infected year. I really wanna try some Goose Island stuff, especially the Bourbon Co. I really wanna try some KBS too

I'll need to check when I get home if it is indeed an 09. Thanks for the info as i haven't been following BA closely for awhile and I don't usually have access to Deschutes over here.

Not all '09 bottles of Abyss are infected, it's more of a crap shoot. I've had a couple that were perfectly fine and others with the infection and I actually didn't mind the Bret so much, but I also love sours too...
