I'm still pretty heavy on the repro style but I have to say, especially after lately dipping my toes back into 'designer' fashion i.e Visvim/The Row/Auralee it's shocking how luxurious something like a Real McCoy's sweater is.

Real Mccoy's is the real deal. The quality is up there with any brand. I bought a visvim denim jacket a few years ago secondhand, and never understood the pricing. The repro brands were all just as good, if not better in quality.

Wouldn't you consider Real McCoy's designer fashion? I consider all these Japanese vintage repro brands to be "designer". Quality of Sun Surf, Sugar Cane, etc. is among the best you can get.

They aren't "designer" because they largely aren't a person's design vision, or marketed on that basis. This is different to quality and manufacturing.

Visvim was / is probably "designer".

Designer in the sense of putting the R&D work into developing proprietary materials and patterns yes, but not insofar as design or 'lifestyle sale' is concerned. When you buy a pair of Buzz Rickson khakis you're buying some real nice solid pants, but you're not being charged for a designer's ideology

In Kyoto atm, went to Hoosier which was dope. It’s a bit out of the way but worth heading over. Dude is super chill and speaks good English. Bought a few things and he threw in some Freewheelers socks free lol. Have a real treasure trove of old season FW stuff piled up.

Went to Timeworn in Osaka yesterday too which was nice. Copped lot 212 denim. Widest (below the knee anyway) I’ve owned. Really nice cut in the top block. Stopped by the Warehouse store as it was nearby but slightly disappointing by comparison.

The Lot 212 denim was my favorite pick up last year. Really amazing cut overall for a painter pant.

I found it odd that the Osaka warehouse shop was so small, but even worse was that flagship store in Tokyo (Ebisu) wasn't that much bigger either. Pretty limited selection overall from what I've seen each time I've gone.

It's probably not worth there trek over the to be honest unless you're close by. More variety of places around the Shibuya and Harajuku areas

Anyone tried Hayashi’s Far East Manufacturing oxfords? Looks like they fit a little short in the body—is that right? And how’s the Oxford fabric? Heavy? Light?

Any important considerations between LVC 1936, the Bryceland's Type I, and the Freewheelers 1933?

Trying to get a type I and can't really decide what to go with since none of these are sold near me.
