I don't think the rise is any lower than their suit trousers, but for me they drape a lot better. The chinos are a bit hit-and-miss, in my opinion. Of the two I have, the one is nice, and the other kind of sucks. But both are probably not worth the added tailoring costs.

That's what the salesman said, but when I tried that particular Brentwood pair on, it fit differently than the chinos and soho fit. Short rise was very uncomfortable. I'll try on another pair in the same size for confirmation whenever I'm by the store again.

This is my first post in this thread, so I hope it's the right place! I'm considering purchasing a SS Sienna jacket from ebay (link below). I had originally thought it was one of their jackets/sport coats but after some reading it appears that this particular jacket is basically a suit separate. Could this still work as a sport coat?

Yes, I would wear it but probably switch the buttons to some other lighter horn buttons.

That's not a bad call. I think the ticket pocket makes it a bit less formal and the fabric seems to have a little bit of texture. Lighter horn buttons would certainly dress it down.

Ended up picking up a 36R after measuring some other jackets i have, I work in a law office so a more classic fit suits my work better , just wanted some thought. Jacket sleeves and pants need to be shortened, and waist on pants taken in about 1.5 inches which i think is why the legs look so messy. Somehow didn't think to put on a belt.

Is this a Napoli or Lazio?

Do you guys find SS' armholes to be too low in almost all their suits?

I am curious, what do you mean by too low? Do you happen to have any pictures showing or highlighting the problem? I tend to equate too low with too large, something akin to jackets from the 1950s or 1960s.

Quick question Gentlemen:

Which of their other models / fit is closest to the Havana?

Thanks, AHS

I only have a Sienna from SS and yes I find the armholes much too low.

That's very disappointing. I have the Lazio and the armholes are annoyingly low and it makes the fit very cheap feeling whenever you try to lift your arms.

Low armholes are often found in cheaply made mass-produced suits.

Thanks for the visual. I always thought SS's signature feature was high arholes.

That Cary Grant jacket shows a beautiful fit.

Dumb question, but why do manufacturers make low armholes? I mean you have to have som huge ******* arms if you need all that space on the jacket with low armholes that benjamin just posted. Is it a matter of skill? Is higher armholes technically more difficult to get correct?
