The developer knows what we want, but no, we don't have a workable add-on yet.

Thanks. In the meantime, how do we disable email notifications for B&S? I thought I'd figured it out: I went to my watched forums, checked the boxes for B&S and classifieds, then chose "disable email notifications" in the pull down and hit go.

But the emails keep coming. Does it take time for the change to take effect? Or did I do it wrong?

Are watching a category in B&S?

If you browse to the b&s category There should be an "unwatch" button on the top-right of the category.

I've now unwatched it there, too. We'll see if that fixes it. But it seems to be a problem that the functionality to make these changes on the account/personal details pages appears to be nonfunctional. I'd already attempted to "disable email notifications" and "unwatch" there. Once I "unwatched" them from my "watched forums" page, they were removed from the list. But apparently they weren't actually unwatched, because they were still listed as "watched" when I went to the category itself.

It's not so much an issue with functionality, as it is with consolidation of options. If you read the options in contact details and in preferences, none of the options speak to watched forums, or watched threads. That said, I agree that the notifications system, and the placement of the user preferences, are, generously speaking, disorganized. The developers of the software are working on this. Unfortunately, it's not something that we can really work around without the much waited for next iteration of this software.

I am curious...what is the qualification for "Dubiously Honoured?"

Some time ago I received notice that I had achieved that status. I did not ask for it although now that I have it I kind of like it.

However, for some reason, I thought the qualification was the number of "likes" a member had received. But I see at least one member (albeit a sponsor) with roughly 200 likes who is "Dubiously Honored" and another with over 600 likes who is not.

??

There is no automatic qualification for it. It's something that I've awarded to community leaders, as an honorary title, throughout the years. There are no nominations, though sometimes I'll ask some people if a specific person might deserve the title. There are no specific criteria for it. The general criterion is "The member has proved for an extended period of time to be a leader in the community, and a good example." It cannot be requested, and we try to make it sort a low key. Different people get it for different reasons.

You've deserved your title for all the years you've had it!

I see...

Well, thank you for that. It's gratifying to hear it.

Welcome.

At times I've felt like bestowing it on myself, like a Third World despot: "Dubiously Honored"; "Most magnificent"; "Most Incredibly Eminent".
