There is one papal dispensation for use of the term "Frisco". The Hell's Angels local chapter (clubhouse is down in Dogpatch) is in fact known as the "Frisco" chapter. You go tell them it's not correct..... Other than that it does seem to confer "tourist" status on the user.

I still remember the controversy in 1984 when Jesse Jackson referred to San Franscisco as "Heinytown."

I think that it seriously damaged his chances for the Presidency.

What's wrong with Heinytown? Fairly accurate.

Or perhaps worse, if such a thing exists.

Things were quite different in 1984. The

had not yet even learned how to walk.

And that was only one of many remarkable differences from the time that we know today as "today."

I feel this way about the use of "Vegas" for my home town, or "Ne-vah-da" for the state (even though it's closer to the Spanish). Sorry I wasn't able to make it. Evening meetings are killing me. But I hope it went well.

^ The first "a" sounds like the "a" in "bad" or "dad." At least that's how people from the state say it.

No pics, but good company, conversation, and wine suggestions from Margot.

Malouf's? Did you buy anything? Most of the stuff was brought in from
Patrick James and lesser stores. They did have Edward Green and G&G
shoes but not to my taste, or my size. Their jean selection was mostly
for the big butt set, etc.
