Hi Friends,

This is Hughes, a 25 year old leatherworker from Singapore. I have a ready-made Alligator key fob in red for sale. The piece is hand-stitched and i do try my best in every piece that i make. The dimension of the leather is 8,00cm x 2,40cm.

The color is stated as Rouge Indien and it is done in a matte antique finish.

For this ready made piece, gold hardware is used but should you require nickel-plated hardware as shown in the pictures, i can do a MTO piece for you too! If you have any needs or requirements, please feel free to PM me as well. I can procure alligator, niloticus and caiman skins along with other exotic skins for your needs. As for the colors, i will try to get them as you desire.

I have been sewing for about 3 years now, not an expert but i do improve with every project. Thanks everyone for viewing!

Last but not least, the price includes registered airmail shipping with insurance.

Would nicely match the red card case!

added to my wishlist!

So is it a true alligator or synthetic? and can you teach us a trick to tell the difference?
Thanks Hughes

It's genuine alligator skin Zaza :)

With embossing techniques now, tanneries can produce hides that are pretty hard to tell. But comparing embossed skin and genuine skins, one of the main difference is that an am bossed piece seems flatter and has less character. They can imitate the scale patterns but natural alligator scales (think fish scales) are more three dimensional.

Try to buy from reputable sellers and most custom or bespoke craftsmen will not hesitate to show you the process and you can see the utilization of the alligator skin.

Well I think it's not that helpful but I hope it helps
