Bullshit. It was a picture taken from a webstore. It's pretty easy to infer what he bought.

And it's not a cool joke, man. Whether you like it or not, there are some things that are over the line, and this was one of them. You live (or have lived) in the States, and I'm sure you are aware that you chose poorly. Go back and redact your joke. It's really the right thing to do. It's going to be done one way or the other - the only issue is whether you are going to preserve some of your dignity, or whether you are going to be an asshole about it, and make me time you out for a week+.

1) I really hate it when people say "I did X, now, it's only right that you do Y." Please don't try to make my judgement calls for me.
2) I'm beginning to think that you are tone deaf. Please re-read his post. He didn't make a "joke". He was trying to make a point, as were the other posters who engaged in the "what type of European" conversation afterwards. Everyone else can tell the difference, it seems.

Probably, but no-racist jokes/slurs rule is one of the very few things that has been prett consistently enforced throughout Styleforum history.

Yeah I hear that, but I am occasionally perturbed when I see a comment that I find offensive re: gays. Mostly in the off-topic forums.
