1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I have a vintage automatic Seiko diver that I haven't worn for over a year. I'm glad that watches have no appeal for me, one less thing to spend money on. I truly don't get the appeal of a quartz watch - they work fine but we're surrounded at all times by perfectly accurate time keeping machines, so timekeeping seems like the least of a watch's appeal.

I too love the Russian reindeer. Wish the smaller pocket wallet was still in stock at ASW so I could wear that all the time. Don't wear jackets every day now that the weather is nice, so jacket wallet is a bit much every day

She's starting on her A level after the summerbreak, so I was planing on giving her something nice, which is also large enough for all the stuff she needs to carry.

The watch loving gene skipped me, but if I ever decide (or could) get one, I might as well go to this small place in my back yard

Lange makes beautiful watches, if I had that kind of money to drop on a watch it would say Urwerk or Greubel Forsey.

The larger 14" size is pretty capacious (my wife teaches A Levels and she can get a day's worth of marking in one ;) ). The quality isn't bad - they're made in the UK from reasonable leather and come with a lifetime guarantee.

If you're wanting something nicer maybe try Henry Tomkins: http://www.htleather.co.uk/category/satchels he makes very nice bags.

Most of my wife's students seem to use sports bags, but I'm possibly too far away from 16 to know what a 16yr will like.

If it was a 16yo BoK I think you would hit the nail on the head, but I don't think she would go with something like that.

My Liberty printed suggestion got shot down a while back, so what do I know.

Get her a tote bag. I wouldn't know what she's like, but I would think that a tote bag is the most versatile option.

She might like something from Haerfest.

watches haven't been very popular on the SWD side, especially as it's become less traditional over the past five years or so. In, say, 2010, I think more of us would've been excited about a watch thread.

@RegisDB9 do palm beachers think its funny that there's a vinyard vines on worth ave now

The look you posted is better than anything including those skinny, ankle lenght, ripped-knee jeans that some SLP wearers affectionate and that are now worn by everyone and their sister.

I'm not keen on totes, it's too easy to steal shit from them, but Haerfest looks cool.

It needs to hold a 13" Macbook Air, books etc.

I was looking at Mi-Pac earlier.

Regis, could you expand on that?

Are they happy cause they're rich and dressing like crap and don't give a crap?

Or they're happy and rich and dress to the 9's.

I mean that the aesthetic I see walking around is close to what I associate with VV and the like. For example:

I wouldn't say they look like crap, thats just their style....I mean I cant judge I'm going to be walking around with painted sneakers and a suit. I have seen a couple of guys walk out of Buggatis with some pretty awful wears that make me think every penny went towards the car

^ Vineyard Vines. I associate that brand with frat boys who have whales on their shirts/ pants yet likely don't care much about whales...
