TBH I prefer the tom cruise kills everyone movies because it is funnier if an actor overtakes the role and eats the whole franchise because he's a weirdo. I think in the latest tom cruise has gadgets and kills everyone, they parachute over the grand palais and proceed to a rave/charity/fashion event in a hilarious way and tom beats up random people cause he's the man. James is just leftover British marketing i mean...

I just rewatched all of those as well. They don’t hold up entirely and the first two were pretty awful, the first being a total lift from 3 Days of The Condor, but I still prefer Ethan Hunt over Bond.

Those movies are pretty fun. I think the Fast and Furious movies, really starting with Fast Five, are the most ridiculous (in a good way) version of the modern Hollywood blockbuster action movie. They've embraced the absurdity.

I've avoided them because they seem to bro-y, but I'm easily entertained. Should I start with the first, or can I just go from 5 onward?

Justin Lin started directing them with the third one (Tokyo Drift) and there's a character introduced there that has some minor relevance going into the next two. Chronologically in the storyline, the events of Drift actually occur after 6, so you could start with 4 (Fast & Furious).

Or, you know, just start wherever.

On this date d4nimal was the first to snap under the immense weight of a world on fire. Many were soon to follow and Styleforum today serves as an intersection of neurotics, with over 10,000 threads each dedicated to the same, sole topic of spot removal.

@UrbanComposition - you have to watch them from start to finish. Missing number one would be a crime. And the evolution of the movies is part of the charm.

The first movie is easily my favorite. The next two were... quite something. Really corny, worth the watch. (You could skip 2 Fast 2 Furious and Tokyo Drift - does not have the "main" characters (well, Paul Walker), but has characters that do come back and play big roles).

The 4th movie is OK, kind of neither here nor there. The 5th, 6th, and 7th movie (particularly the 7th). All of these movies represent a shift to where the series is today. The 8th movie is probably the worst of the recent iterations. Hobbs & Shaw is also entertaining.

These movies are trash movies, plain and simple. But the fact that they have made 9 of them, that Ludacris is a starring character, that Gal Gadot is strangely in some of them, is just so awesome.

My favorite all time F&F line is in 2F2F when Roman walks up to the two Cuban henchmen and says “Elian and Fidel que pasa jota” now to this day I use this quote. Btw “jota” means J in Spanish so I think he was going for a “what’s up g” type deal there by said the wrong letter...idk it’s the lunacy of it all makes it hilarious to me

The most entertaining one for me though..before they jumped the shark toooo much was whichever one was in Brazil and they steal a banks safe attached to a much of Dodge Chargers...and the rock shows up for no reason at all just to be the rock....wait did I say jump the shark?
