I found out about Kobe Bryant when they said that LeBron James scored more points than him. I guess Lebron James destroyed Kobe Bryant in the NBA and in real life because Kobe Byrant's life was ended soon after his record was broken. That is a bit freaky. RIP to an old master.

In his defense it was pretty hilarious (albeit could have been interpreted as having racial undertones). The Kobe joke is obviously moronic and tasteless but sometimes you swing and miss

LeBron James defeated the old timer Kobe Bryant and was subsequently killed (in a helicopter crash, presumably; that cannot be proven without a body, that is still missing).

Next on the list is some guy named Karl Malone. So 36,928 - 33,655 = 3,273. Now King LBJ is averaging 25.3 points per game this season, so it will take 3,273 / 25.3 = ~130 games to surpass Karl. Currently there are 38 games left this season (assuming the King plays all of them, unlike Mr. Load Management (who is faking his "injury" and suddenly will be in tip-top shape for the playoffs and suddenly the Part-Time Master will be every single playoff game injury free, suspicious...).

That means LBJ will need to play an additional 92 games to surpass Karl Malone. Taking away another 82 games for the 2020-2021 season (assuming King James plays all of them, but that is unlikely due to his age), so he will need another 10 games to make ends meet. Which means he will need to wait until the 2021-2022 season to beat Karl (and possibly have Karl die, but hopefully not by helicopter this time).

So I am cheering for King James, the GOAT, to surpass Karl Malone.
