Psh, pretty sure the jacket looks just fine, dissing a fit just because it doesn't follow protocol is pretty stupid. I see nothing wrong with loosening just the tie particularly when it keeps its symmetry like he has done and doesn't look sloppy; as for the tie restricting argument, I'm sure his neck would feel tighter with a tight tie than with a loose one, a tight button on a shirt doesn't negate the tightness of a tie even if its tighter, it's cumulative, could even be a psychological thing, guy might not want his neck to be burdened.

You're right about the jeans-they stretched 1.25" in the waist, then I lost an inch in the waist, which combines to form a tremendous sag. Anytime I wear the jeans higher in the waist I have to cinch them up to high heaven.
