How about sunglasses? Would it have been aviators etc... ?

Late 60s Polaroid sunglasses with metal frames were all the rage. The shape was not really aviator though.

The disadvantages of Polaroids and looking through car windscreens was not an issue as most skinheads were not car drivers at that time.

Me neither. Never heard of some of the fancier brands till later either. Sunglasses were bought from Boots or a department store.

So you choose a career path that requires short hair, boots and a well pressed set of combats [IMG]

    Good on you!

Was there a skinhead scene in Aldershot around the same time you were there?

In the early 80s young Paras would walk around in MA1 Jackets, Maroon T Shirts, Levis, and Desert Boots, No 1 hair cuts. They looked so much like Skinhead thugs the Army tried to get the lads to grow their hair somewhat. Dont remember seeing Skinheads anywhere in the late 70s 80s.
