Yes, it is glued, but the technique to achieve the bond can vary, fusing machine vs glue. It is not necessarily an indicator of quality as in suiting - many of the best shirts have fused collars and cuffs. Depending on the desired look (soft or crisp, formal or casual), collar style and weight of fabric, cleaning method, either fusing or non-fused interfacing may give superior results.

Thanks, so if I'm understanding right, a fused collar will be stiffer and thus more formal? So if I was going to go for either a spread or cutaway collar on say a poplin fabric for use with suits, some fusing may be the way to go?

Gearing up for my next Luxire order. My first shirt had the NOBD1 collar and though it's fine, I was hoping to tweak it become more S shaped and avoid having the collar point ponting 90 degrees out as per image below. I want it to be a good cutaway with a sizeable tie space and collar points resting on the body. Been through the Google doc, but haven't quite found the perfect collar. Any advise (hoping to see a picture rather than playing designer with Theresa)?

Thanks

Is that where you want your pants to sit?

Make sure you're either home to sign for the package or you create a FedEx account so that you e-sign for the package so that they leave it on your front step.

It's an annoyance you can easily avoid if you'd rather not wait an extra day.
Thanks for the tip! I will definitely create an account and e-sign for it because I will be tied up in the office for a good part of the day.

Have you checked out the Roma Cutaway Collar on Proper Cloth yet? I'm going to be ordering some dress shirts once I nail my fit down and I think this is the collar that I am going to go with. They make a soft version of it as well which might be appealing. Not sure if its what you are looking for though.

Here it is:

I can't advise exactly about which of the Luxire fusing options you should specify, but for a more formal shirt made of poplin I'd go for a slightly thicker fusing than on an oxford cloth for instance. Also, you can have a linen summer shirt with a paper thin fusing, shouldn't be stiff at all.

I got my last order of 5 shirts yesterday, only about 10 days from order to delivery and I couldn't be happier with the way these turned out. I think I finally nailed my collar for a suit & tie fit...wide spread with 3.5" collar points, soft lining and medium fusing:

Indeed, a very nice collar. Order #?

Can you have lining, but no fusing, so you have a 'thicker' collar but not stiff?

Edit: I ask because I have just received my first shirt from Luxire. Great fit. But I specified 'non fused' collar. It seems very thin, like there's no interlining. I didn't specify 'unlined'. Next time I will be clear.

No. My previous posts always showed shirts, so I'm now figuring out how I could create a good fit for my shirt, so therefore the waist measurement is for the shirt waist.
Follow the instructions on Luxire's website.

yes, you can have them lined but unfused. and yes, you need to be explicit about what you want.

Aw. Thx of course. The fullest so widest part at the waist they say. So i assumed wrong with the moxt narrow point. Fro where to where they consider to be the waist? From the upper of the pelvic bone to the point under the chest?

Alright so my test shirt came in this afternoon and I immediately went home to try it on. First reactions: Quality of the shirt is on par with my nicest oxfords that I own. Box that it came in was banged up and it didn't really look too appealing, but I could really care less about the presentation.

Here are some pictures:

Reactions after trying the shirt on: For my first order I think I did a lot better than most which I was very pleased with. The shirt is completely wearable and I think only a few small tweaks will be needed in order to achieve the best fit. I ordered this shirt to be both worn tucked in at the office as well as untucked with jeans or chinos for a night out. The shirt looks fantastic tucked in to be honest even though I haven't provided pictures. I think I could shorten up the length of the shirt just a little (nit picky?) so it falls around the upper-middle part of my butt. This is how I usually like to wear my shirts untucked so i think taking a little bit off lengthwise will still achieve a good look both tucked in and untucked. My next problem is that it looks like the bottom measurement is a little wide. While the waste is perfect IMO, the wide bottom creates an hourglass look to the shirt that I think can be avoid in the future.

Other than that I am very pleased with how my first shirt came out and I will definitely be ordering more shirts from Luxire to build my business/business-casual wardrobe. Any feedback woud be greatly appreciated because SF as a whole knows way more than I do. Trying to get my 2nd shirt to be the perfect size. Thanks!

Is that Luxire standard button-down collar or you specified your own measurements?

Nice, I really like that collar! Do you mind sharing the order number and fabric used?
