Can anyone please recommend an off white fabric from Luxire for S/S khakis? I'm looking to have a pair made to wear with sportcoats. Thanks in advance.

I need a reality check. This must be my tenth shirt, but I just can't seem to nail down my measurements. I tweak something, overshoot/undershoot, gradually readjust and end up back where I started. Does this shirt look messy because it is not ironed, or should I be aiming for a better fit? Or maybe it's just my body type and posture? Am I just being obsessive? Planning to decrease chest slightly and fix the wrinkles on the upper arm.

Shoulder measurement is too wide.
Sleeve bunching up that much = sleeves too long.

Honestly everything is is probably just because it isn't ironed. Everything will look worse due to that.

I think the sleeve width is good. But I hate when sleeves pull at my elbows while I'm bending my arms, for comfort reasons and because causes the elbows to tear prematurely.

Does anyone know if you can order the trial/fitting sport jacket first and then a jacket, or are you supposed to have ordered a jacket first before order the fitting jacket?

@MacGuffen How does the shirt feeling moving around? Does it feel tight across the back or at the elbows? Does the sleeve pull up a lot when you reach forward?

Do you wear your shirts primarily under jackets or just on their own?

Looks perfect except cuffs slightly too narrow, yoke .25" too wide. Your cuffs need to be bigger so the sleeve can come down a little bit more. Rest of the stuff is just because shirt isn't ironed and your body shape slightly unideal.

If this is your tenth shirt and still not sure, I would buy a mtm/bespoke shirt in a shop to check if that works better. If that works better, send the shirt to luxire.

Do you mean the cuffs are too snug? If so, I disagree. Any looser and they'd cover his hands. If you mean they could extend further up his arm, then that could be, but that's a matter of preference.

Linen sale shirts arrived, as usual Luxire did a great job:

I am very impressed with the turnaround once they have your pattern down. Simply reference the pattern order#, and **** gets done...love it... :slayer:

I think we may have placed a nearly identical order. Great minds think alike!

So this raises an interesting question for me. I know that Luxire will let us specify certain measurements on shirts in .25" increments (sleeve length is one I think).

It seems to me as if that's a margin of measurement that could easily be overwhelmed by variance in cutting and sewing (which is not to say that Luxire's cutters and tailors do anything other than their best, but that we have to allow for some variance) or by one fabric that may shrink a little more than others when washed.

I mention this because among the various shirts I've ordered so far and that have the same measurements, I've definitely noticed some variation in the fit (mostly the one or the other ends up feeling a little too small/short, and that's likely because I have the measurements set to where there's little margin for the error I'm suggesting here). Nothing tragic, but it is noticeable in a few cases.

Thoughts?

I've recently come to the same realization after one of my early shirts shrunk to the point the yoke and sleeves are almost too small, while another oxford fabric shirt has had virtually no shrinkage. I decided I needed to find a middle road that would account for shrinkage but still look good enough if a particular fabric had little to no shrinkage. With this in mind, I added 0.25" back in my sleeve length and may add 0.25" into my back waist. Pretty sure I will not add to the yoke because I'd rather deal with too tight than too baggy in this area.
