I prefer Plant's voice here... way less affected, not as whiny. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Page's playing now, it's fine. They're pretty tight. This clip is streets better than many of the live bootlegs I have.

People should get over the fact that they're old. It's not a crime.

I saw the Who a few months after the ox died and they were phenomenal. Daltry sang incredible well and Townshend impressed me to no end, but then again I never saw the original live.

The Who's fairly recent Quadrophenia tour was one of best concerts I've ever seen. It put their shows from 80s to shame.

A few good-quality clips have surfaced on YouTube. Some of them have nearly a million views already...

So glad I got to see those clips. Somehow their performance seems appropriately geared down for their age.

There's two pretty damn good bootlegs on Trader's Den (some on Dime too, I think). TD has an NTSC video/audio recording of the show and there's an audio in FLAC. The latter is very listenable.

OT a tad...Has anyone seen the new release of 'The Song Remains The Same"? It has been reissued with new material (both the album and the movie)

Here's a quote from Page on it:
"We have revisited The Song Remains The Same and can now offer the complete set as played at Madison Square Garden. This differs substantially from the original soundtrack released in 1976, and highlights the technical prowess of Kevin Shirley, who worked with us on How The West Was Won"
