Dear friends,

Now I live in Russia and in autumn and spring time it's very messy on the streets. Every day I have 30 minute one-way walk to train station and return at the evening. I always change my shoes in the office.

What bothers me is dirt on the back of my pants under knee. Everyday as soon as I come to the office I have to scrub the dirt with brush and due to chemicals which are used to deal with snow scrubbing is not enough and it is just damaging for suit pants. I've started to wear chinos and change it for suit pants when needed, but still they are gettign very dirty.

I am thinking about getting knee-height black classic hunters boots. For autumn and spring. It's not very popular for men to wear this. I want something practical and normal looking for commuting. What's your opinion on this? Can I tuck in pants in boots without making too much wrinkles?

Hi actually I am in your same situation. I actually live in Moscow too. I had to order Hunter boots as well because of all the rain in June and the work that Sobyanin is doing. What I do is carefully tuck my trousers into my boots when the weather is really bad. I also brought with me a pair of Fred overshoes that are really nice and keeping my shoes safe when the streets are terrible.

Honestly I'd rather look a little silly and not get my clothes ruined. Just mho
