Oh and also... congrats to the guys who got custom trousers in this fabric. I sold through it all yesterday, and they're going to be amazing!

I couldn't mention it in the item on my site, but I got the cloth from Gallery Dept. It's a really popular streetwear brand out of LA. Their clothing is expensive and a lot of it is avant garde, but they are masterful at wash and dye techniques. They don't spare any expense on raw materials for their signature pieces either. These are going to be absolutely epic trousers! I'll post pics when they arrive.

Jade turquoise wool silk rivets…not machine washable, right?
Ah... no you'd want to stick to dry cleaning those. Wool-silk airs out really nicely though. As long as you don't spill anything on them, honestly just hanging them outside for a few hours will do wonders.

Hi Eva - longtime customer (bought first pair of Rivets in the Brooklyn store best part of a decade ago!), new to Styleforum though. Could I ask you to get back to me on orders 56928 and 56995? Haven't had a response via email or the website chat function.

Speaking of Huddersfield... we had a customer request a really interesting suit in this material. This is the Navy Pique, and he commissioned a very trad sack jacket with patch & flap pockets, full canvas, two-button functional cuffs, and larger old-school stitching. Came out really great!

Hey guys, quick question!

I have some amazing linen fabrics, and pretty good pricing on all of them.

I'm thinking to do a quick June 1st preorder. If we do the "Laidback" shape, then I can get production done in about 7-10 days. So i put this online around 5/25, preorders for a week, shipping them out around June 10th.

Would you prefer Laidback Pants or Laidback Shorts in linen?

The pants aren't a whole lot more expensive, as it's really just the cost of another yard of fabric. Figure $110 for shorts, maybe $135 for pants.

I guess i'm leaning towards pants, because I feel like $135 is a great price for linen linen and $110 is more than many guys want to pay for shorts in any fabric. But I'd love to hear your feedback.

Oh and we'll definitely offer the hemming service for the pants too, so they can come in any inseam that you want.

I agree with your analysis. At those price points pants are much more attractive. Personally I’d probably pay up to $75/85 for shorts.

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I got a few DM's as well and this was definitely the majority opinion. I could hit something like $65 for preordered shorts in nice varieties of cotton, so I might stick with less expensive, machine washable fabrics for that.

Look for the Linen pant project next week! Excited for this.

AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY WITH THE DOYLE JACKET

I've got a phenomenal last minute addition to our Doyle preorder project! We'll be shipping these end of May / beginning of June.

Woven in the United Kingdom, this is an absolutely stunning four-season wool from Holland and Sherry. The base tone is light sand, and it has a micro-houndstooth pattern in charcoal, chestnut, and cadet blue. The hand on this fabric is exceptional! It matches the breathability of a suiting wool with that extra heft and presence that you only get from British cloth.

The style is an old-school English town & country vibe, and will make a versatile Doyle jacket that can be effortlessly dressed up or down.

I purchased this cloth at a great price, so our retail of $275 is super competitive. There's only 8 units available to order, and these will be delivered in within the next 3 weeks.

The last few pairs of Rivets I've received have definitely been smaller /tighter than previous ones, to the point where I almost need to go up a size. Is this by design, or the result of a new supplier or something?

Just curious, since now I'm unsure of sizing

I had the same issue with my last pair - unclear that I want to go up a size because it's not obvious the waist is narrower but the legs definitely are.
