Me and 2 friends are driving down to see the jays play the yanks in early june.

Im not sure if staying in a hotel in the bronx is a good idea, but i really have no idea

We would like to see some of downtown, and dont necessarily have to stay by the park.

What would you suggest? 3 guys splitting a room, id like to spend max 200 on my share of the room and food+ drinks for the one night plus during the days we will be there

Get a rock-solid local recommendation before staying in the Bronx. For $600 split 3 ways, there are probably some Hiltons or similar in midtown.

In a pinch, you could find a motel in a close-lying suburb like Yonkers or across river in New Jersey. Hoboken is not a roll-out-of-bed-into-civilization place, but it's near public transport and you'll save enough on the room to cover some extra transportation.

Even if not on the subway and too far to walk, everything in Manhattan is an easy cab ride away.
