If anyone got a 10 or 10.5 Saunders in Chocolate Suede and it doesn't fit, I'll take it off your hands :)

I had the Chili LaSalle's, loved them. Great with business casual or chinos, even dressy jeans. They do have the poron insole, which I love as it's super comfortable, but some believe will decrease the useful life of the shoe.

You must have the JAB version, the normal lasalle has the standard insole.

Quick q:

Any love for the LaSalle?
Have a black pair from when they had seconds for $129. Don't wear them often because they are black, but when I do, I find them comfortable. I like the style, and fits my foot well (albiet maybe a tad too big, but those of us in Canada can't afford the shipping fees for minor details - plus very few shoes come in 12.5 so I settle for 13). Would certainly recommend them. I'd imagine the Chili colour would be nice too.

ColonelEK -- The Fifth Streets are definitely dressy, no question. But, if you're in college and you wear Allen Edmonds, you will probably be the dressiest person in the room most of the time, including your professors. It depends on how much you want to stand out. I wouldn't wear boots, even boots as dressy as balmorals like the Fifth Streets, to a job interview or a wedding, but you can wear them to just about any other occasions -- dinner at a fancy restaurant, a party at an upscale club or country club, etc.

Love mine in Chili as well. All my other AE shoes had to be broken in but not the Lasalle, perfect and comfortable fit right out the box. As the other posted said, it's great with chino's, jeans and dress pants.

My thanks for the input, gentlemen.

Now the inevitable sizing question: How would one size the 8-Last in comparison to the 5- and 1-Lasts?

The strand is on last 5 right? I'm too tired to remember. But I"m a size 8D in the strand and fifth avenue and also a 8D in Lasalle.

I'm also still waiting for the Amok's I ordered on the 19th.

Just got a note that my Amok order was cancelled since they don't have anymore materials to make.

My unicorn exists. It's an LWB in blue suede with a red Gumlite sole. AE calls it the Nigel and they mak(d)e it for RL. $124, coming from Jeffersonville. I've never heard of this shoe and I can't find any photos of it online. The only reason I even knew it existed (and in my size no less) is that it showed up in that database (BTW the link no longer works for me). Crazy.

Not to burst your bubble or bring non-AE shoes into the AE thread, but Nordstrom actually had these for a while and they dropped as low as ~$50. I'm still kicking myself for not taking advantage of that price.

1 last is true to size. Get your Brannock size
5 size is long and narrow. Go down 1/2 size and up 1/2 width from your Brannock size (and 1 last)
8 (108) last is rather narrow at the tow, but I would also go with my true Brannock size.
Of course, YMMV.
