Yeah. Drop us a pic or two. RFX's boots seemed pretty similar to the heels of the W+H. I hope they did not cut the corner with the shorter heels. That would be
.

You know that the W+H boot has a rubber cap below the stacked leather heel, right? It's about 1/4" thick:

^Bottom layer is rubber. I agree that a full rubber heel (no stacked leather) would be unacceptable.

This is the same thing they have been saying for about 2 months.
Whoever I spoke too seemed keen to have me complain to Steven.
This is getting a little ridiculous... I don't really want to get caught in some company drama.
Just want a pair of boots.

The heel height looks about the same to me.

So I emailed Dayton and asked about the fabric laces I'd requested the first time around. Michelle responded and said she'd mail them to me. I'll report back when I've received them.

I am thinking about bitching at them to get me a 50% off coupon for telling me "one more week" 5 times

If they said "it will take 3 mos and be ready around late July" first time I asked in April, I wouldn't be so disappointed

Did you email them with the address from the site? I didn't get a response from them and it's been 2 weeks. I did call to inquire but they never got back to me after even though they said they will.

Dayton has been pretty weak all told with contact and being upfront about delays.
They have not once given me a ring when deadlines are missed.
Debating just canceling my order.

Pretty much the same response. Later next week or couple weeks for the soles to arrive, but except for that the construction is over. Kind of funny because they told me last time the order was around 40 pairs and their series of delay makes it sound like they couldn't handle supplying 80 soles. Oh shoot forgot to ask for 50% coupon

I just replied to the person who responded to my initial inquiry about purchasing the boots. It took her a few days to get back to me, though, so I assume they're still working through a back-log of emails.

I was told last week that my pair were just waiting for some heels and then they would be going out by last Friday. I hope they're not waiting on Canada Post to get all this stuff.

I'll post a pic of the heel on mine as soon as my camera shows itself-just moved-but they're pretty much the same as RFX45's. But compare with this:

http://static1.slamxhype.com/wp-cont...rvice-boot.jpg

am I mistaken? Also, the topy portion of the heel was only glued onto the leather stack, sans the little nails that the W+H model has. But one of the things that really appealed to me about the Dayton model, besides the price point, was the fact you can have them made in widths other than EE. But judging from everyone's experience here though, I would def say the sales people and the bootmakers are not on the same page about the details of each order put through. However, for those looking to order from them, ask to speak with Michelle, NOT Kayla.

Lol at people getting pissed at Dayton. They don't do huge levels of production and aren't very tech-savvy when it comes to the world of online selling. They offer a small promo, it spreads like wildfire on this website and on the blogosphere and everyone and their damn dog gets visions of having an "almost W+H service boot" and puts in an order. They're now overwhelmed, both in terms of production and customer service, and struggle to fill all these orders plus keep up with their normal (and major money making) orders for work boots etc.

None of you are nearly as important as you think you are. If any of you who wear a 10.5 cancel your order let me know, I'll happily take that order off you (at a nice discount too) since you were too damn impatient.

Everyone talks **** about 'fast fashion' but at the end of the day when people come up against a truly old school boot maker everyone gets their panties in a bunch.

Lol at your brown nosing Dayton. Did dayton give ya a pair of shoe laces to write that post? Meso and I am not pissed at them because we feel like we've been fooled by the hype of "almost W+H service boot,"
but because of their sloppy business. Their expected date of completion was 3~5 weeks at first.
Now I understand that they are a relatively small family based company and they must have been overwhelmed by the wild amount of order. So when they said it would take 5~7 weeks, I was cool. But man why does it have to be US to call THEM whats going on when they hit 8 week mark, 10 week mark, and now, 13week mark with no boots (they do a damn good job at answering phone calls though)? So they are not good at e-commerce, do they know that people still use PHONE and MAIL? I am pretty sure I gave them my phone number and address along with my credit card info?? I am going to wait because I know that for 300 their boots are damn good looking beauties but does this mean that I have to keep my mouth shut and not complain about Dayton's delays that were never notified? I don't know about you but to me $300 is not a small money and I paid that 3 months ago.

Spoke with both Kayla and Michelle. Both are nice and don't hesitate to go down and ask the professionals when they do not have clear answer. Now if only they can find out the clear date for shipping...
