LEAST favorite pants I own. At least they are priced reasonably... I would still rather shell out the extra $200 for something that will wear well for a few years.

I just picked up a pair of Weird Guys in Deep Indigo at the Barneys in South Beach. The fabric is extremely heavy and seems very high quality. I personally like the fit a lot. Its comfortable in the thigh area and tapers nicely. I'm 5'7 and had them hemmed to 30.5 inches but Im wondering if theyre going to shrink a lot in length when I soak them in a few months.

I ordered the same jeans. They appear to fade rapidly for some people and I hope I get similar results.

N&F is a really weird jean. People wear them in a wild variety of ways. I am actually leaning towards thinking the Weird Guy fit really shouldn't be too sized down. I am also thinking that early fit pics before they have softened and settled are totally worthless for the cut / style.

I'm hoping I will wear these a bit more as beaters. My green Weirds always were too tight.

Rambling.

So anyone have any experience with washing (cold wash/air dry) and the resulting shrinking inseam wise?

I sized down two on my green weird guys, and they're still too tight. Not uncomfortably so, but...i don't know. I also bought a pair of lightweight weird guys sized down two, and they're pretty close to my ideal fit. i'm sure the weight of the denim has something to do with the fit, but i would have gone down one in the green weird guys.

i wish they would stretch--they're really interesting looking.

Deep Indigo Weirds have arrived in 29. I do like them. The combs are cutting into the back of my knees like razors, though. I wore my 28 Greens the day before. Maybe if I put in another 14 days of solid wear, my Greens would be 'wearable'.

I don't think the fit of a Weird Guy can be considered finalized until at least a month of wear. I've never tried a slim APC, but I assume the issue is similar - very heavily starched slim jeans with small (~7 inch) hems have a tendency to literally stand on their own, even while you are wearing them. The issue is less pronounced with a stiff straight slim. The more of your legs a stiff ass jean is touching, the more resistance there is to it settling realistically, comfortably, appropriately.

good question. seems they market it as softer, which isn't always a hit w/ raw denim fans. seems like the warm would be a more interesting benefit. wonder how it compares to the 21oz
