Yes. $500 Rollaga's and the like are too fussy... not classy enough for it because I'd lose it in a night of drunken debauchery probably.

Anyone have any thoughts on these, I am considering one of them....

These two by IM Corona, seemingly good quality, company has been around for ages, and relatively affordable...

These from Dupont:

Or these Dunhills...

Part of me likes the Dupont for the ping and the namesake but cannot get over that I am paying for mostly the name I believe, the Coronas seem as good for nearly a third the cost...

I currently have this one now but want something more elegant...

Got it new off ebay a few years back, works well but the jet torch isn't ideal for most situations.

^ I have a regular X-Tend and I also have 2 chinese lacquer Line 2's, they're all great lighters and Line 2's look really classy and nice, but honestly after having all 3 of these Dupont lighters for around 5 years, I can assure you that the one that gets the most use is the X-Tend, hands down, the line 2's are mostly on display on my coffee table and rarely get taken out to the streets, those things are too heavy for a pocket lighter imo and not comfortable in your pocket at all. Over the years I've learned to properly adjust the torch according to climate conditions but more important is distance from flame, once you get that down then its pretty practical for most situations, not to mention great for outdoors and windy conditions.

If you're looking for something around 20 then yeah I guess zippo but the smell sucks and is really present imo, if your ok with around 100 then go with an X-Tend, I've seen some lightly used ones on ebay go for under 100 and I think the smaller version of the X-Tend (X-Tend Mini???) retail for a bit under 100 too.

For flint lighters Ive got an older (taller) gold Line 1, a lacquer Gatsby, and a silver Line 2. I also have a black Xtend.

The Xtend is definitely the one that gets the most use. Outside its almost impossible to light a cigar with a flint lighter.

I've really went down in the quality of lighter I use. First it was a 18k gold dunhill rollergas, then a zippo jet lighter, then a normal zippo, a mini zippo and now im using a crappy disposable. I don't feel like spending $300 getting the dunhill fixed.

It's the current crappy disposable that I'm using that makes me want something better.

That being said, I could probably just buy another disposable and hope it's less crappy but right now, I'm looking like an amateur taking forever to light a damn cigarette.

Just saw this thread. I use a Xtend as well (now called Maxi Jet) for everyday use, but I recently got a Line 2 Liberte after a friend of mine lost my Line 2 Perspective 2000, and it has the storm flame.

I check them in my luggage.

I once got away with bringing two Dupont lighters onboard an Air China flight by waving around my US passport and claiming I didn't speak Chinese.

I've lost too many St Duponts to even consider getting a new one anytime soon.

Need to get done on my next lighter what Winston Churchill had done on a Cartier cigarette case....
