Gents...question about the right shade of navy for a spring-summer blazer.

As to source, my initial inclination is to go with Finmeresco based on earlier discussion. The question now is to find the right color/tone, something suitably "formal", but a touch lighter, brighter than somber navy for suiting or a navy coat for winter.

I would be happy for suggestions on cloth that you have used that looks suitably alive and "bright" without losing the association with navy.

My reference, though it is more of a winter cloth, is the https://www.themerchantfox.co.uk/collections/worsted/products/vintage-hopsack, on the image you see it next to the dark navy that does not seem to be available currently. The "BRIGHT NAVY HOPSACK" could be the same color, with a lighter weight, but I do not have a swatch of that.

This is how it looks outdoors

Dugdale Tropicalair (Mockleno) 4612. I think "suitably alive and 'bright' without losing the association with navy" is a very good description of the 4612.

Can anyone help me find a picture of Zeg 62010 from Zegna Anteprima FW19 collection? Can't find it anywhere online and I don't see a fabric catalogue on Zegna website.

Fellas! Been a while and hope everyone is doing well. I was chatting with Michael Alden and some of the guys over at London Lounge about possible doing a run of fabric for the jacketing as seen below....the last photo is iammatt wearing his from Rubinacci some years back.

It's basically a 14oz lovat green shetland with some brown threads woven in and a brown double windowpane.

If anyone is interested just email Michael Alden at llclothclub AT yahoo.com

Thank you!!!

Hi,

Is this a jacketing or a suiting fabric?

Cheers,

Dimitris

PS
Zegna's site is basically about RTW clothing, or, sporadically, about the Bespoke program run through the boutiques. Cloth available to tailors or to the general public, offered either in bunches or in the Anteprima(e) is a separate business unit within the integrated group, so it has nothing to do with the mainstream commercial site.

Should be for jacketing fabric. And I did not know Anteprima was a separate business from the RTW Zegna. Nice to know!

Carnet has a nice flannel collection. This pattern is in their flannel book and makes an interesting jacket

I have some pents made of Drapers flannel and they've held up well. Definitely a little softer and thinner than the Minnis ones.

What’s the most durable fabric for a suit? Something that will last many years? Are heavier weights tougher than lighter weights?
