it depends on what models/lasts you are buying. the 5 last is low (Park Avenue, etc), the 2 last is highish (Holt, Dryden).

Also, with respect to the gap, AE cuts their bluchers to have a decent amount of space. If you look at the stock picture, it looks like the lambert is intended to have about an inch to an inch and half of space.

Perhaps you're right. But if that's the design, I'm not crazy about it.

yeah, i'm not crazy about it either. 1/4 to 1/2 inch is good for me, and it should stretch out enough.
