The pricing (and, oh pretty much everything else too) aside, I kind of "get" what he's going for. That hyper-sexualized 70s uber-manliness. Everything about the collections is hair from parody, but I guess that's the point. He's trying to capture a specific mindset, and a certain time, and bring it into a modern context.

But, yeah, the cologne is one step away from Sex Panther(tm).

Some of Tom Ford's scents aren't too bad. They are nice when mixed.

It's not that flouncy, flowery stuff that is everywhere now.

Agree that he puts out some good scents, but you have to pay through the nose for the good ones. The mainline scents are - for the most part - snoozers.

And, hey - no bad words for Bel Ami. grazie.

I think a lot of you would love Tom Ford if it was on the sale racks.

I believe that it is Tom vs Thom in this universe now. The always peak lapel or the always notch lapel. The super slim, normal length vs the not too slim, short-everything-but-works-perfectly suits. Italian machine-made shoes vs English bench-made. I personally love Thom Browne too much, because it's perfect for my body.
