Go for the plexi crystal. It's more resistant to small shocks, scrateches can be polished out. I've always thought it was a better alternative to mineral crystals. IMO, the preferences should be sapphire>plexi>mineral. I cannot think of one good reason to opt for mineral crystal, beside maybe a desire to stay true to original parts.
There is no limit to the number of scans you can post of your watch !
Did people literally used to scan their watch on scanners before digital cameras came of age?
Plexiglass is great--I wish it was still used in high end watches. It curves in a way no sapphire crystal can.
one thing I have noticed in the watch world (here, WUS, TZ, etc) is that pics are known as scans. My wife and I crack up at this.

Finding a good sapphire bender is so hard these days.
Interestingly, Seiko seems to be able to make the sapphire crystal on some of their Grand Seiko watches look exactly like plexiglass.
Panerai uses a lot of curved (or domed) sapphire crystals. PAM127 is a good example.
