Panerai uses a lot of curved (or domed) sapphire crystals. PAM127 is a good example.

I think the new Rolex SD has a domed crystal too, no?

Where do I get a strap like that?

Even more ridiculous - Lange charges $3,600 for a deployment buckle! [IMG]

Routine service on my Lange last summer cost me north of $2400, but that included shipping to and from Glashütte via Brinks.

    Still, kinda pricey.

For what lug size? If 22, 24 or 26mm, you'll find tons of aftermarket strap makers on Paneristi's accessories corner.

No, it's just raised above the bezel.

Check the Accessories Corner for classic calf straps. DON in Canada has been making very inexpensive ones for years, but the number of aftermarket offerings has grown exponentially. the WatchBoys, Taikonaut, Banda come to mind for value straps. You should go and have a look there

You may be right but I believe they claimed it was slightly domed when they unveiled it

Interestingly, Seiko seems to be able to make the sapphire crystal on some of their Grand Seiko watches look exactly like plexiglass.

Those are some nice watches. I've never seen one in person, though.[IMG]

There are lotsa sapphire-that-looks-like-plexi watches around - mafoofan is wrong. Sinn, Speedy, Panerai, Seiko, MkII - and in the aftermarket "mod" business there are even more. You can get a nicely domed sapphire crystal for just about any Seiko...

i think that luminor is my favorite watch, subtle yet extremely classy and good looking.

i am sure it has been posted, just to lazy to search back, for those that like the domed crystal; corum uses it a lot for the bubble series

I've also had good luck with panatime.com. Excellent service and great prices.
