Finally ready to jump into the Vass pool but would like some sizing advice. I have relatively wide feet, the Alden 9.5D gives a relatively good fit w/ some minimal heel slippage. I'm looking for sizing advice for an F-last boot.

I'm pretty close to you I think, with semi-wide feet in the front and middle, but normal heel. I take E width in AEs, but regular width in most everything else. Alden Barrie & Trubalance 9.5D and RL Marlows 10D are all great, C&J 348 last UK9, Carmina Forest in 9 is just big enough, 9 in Rain is fine, etc. I go with 43 in Vass F (shoes and boots), 43 in P2 (a touch big in volume), and 43.5 in U last.

For reference: I'm in C&J Islay 365 Last 7E, Alden Barrie & TruBalance 7.5D, while my feet is skinny & wide ball narrow heel, I have to take 40 for U last double monk, maybe 40.5 for F last.

What do you think about going with a 42.5 wide?

You seem to have a very similar foot to mine. Good luck with your visit. I'm looking furward to hearing your exoerience.

Will definitely report about it here. :)

I wouldn't worry. While it can happen, they will make it again for you. Mr. Kuti is a pleasure to work with, and very accommodating!

While the pair I ordered were exactly to my spec, I'm sure they will do what it takes to make you happy.

Thank you, sir. I hope everything will go smoothly. :)
I wonder what Vass would do to any returned MTM shoes. As they are not RTW or MTO I guess they wouldn't be resold to anyone else. Would be a waste of good shoes and craftsmanship if they simply scrap them though.

Likely they would either go to a retailer as seconds, or if they were particularly fond of them stay in the shop for display purposes.

So I've done the math and at local prices, if I were to buy 4 pairs of Vass the cost would work out to $10.36 cents a day spread out over the next year. I ask you, is my happiness not worth $10.36 a day?

In fact you should be buying more VASSpiness, if you ask me.

$10.36 sounds like a good deal to me :)
and it's all benefits after that year, and everyone here knows that these shoes last a lifetime.

A lifetime?? You crazy!? Everyone knows that if you use shoe trees (lasted of course) and conditioner (saphir mdo of course), then your shoes will last forever!!! Like, until the end of times!

You are correct sir! I stand corrected. Just get the shoes re-soled when they need it and they will last forever.

Hey @IGotId, since we have many of the same shoes in the same size, here's a quick comparison pic. (All shoes were just grabbed as is, some are in need of a little polishing.)

From L to R:
Vass U 43.5, Alden Barrie 9.5D, Vass F 43, RL Marlow 10D, Vass P2 43

2190854

Hope that helps!

how do you find the p2 and F last fit in the same size? In the pics, the p2 looks substantially wider.

Some people can wear both. I generally fit OK in the P2 but need the next wider fitting in F. Even then, it doesn't always look or feel great.
