That fight was pretty lackluster until the third round but that's a bad call from the judges. Maybe it's karma for Lyoto winning the first Shogun fight.

Who is this Phil Davis? How is he at 7, now 8 and 0 fighting on a PPV card and Jon Jones is just getting added to PPV cards?? Penn fight was great, Rampage, not so much, I had bigger hopes but I'm starting to get let down my UFC main events. The last 4 or 5 have been sleepers. Anyone else notice this?

Joe Rogan was right when he said "I wouldn't want to judge this one." Machida and Rampage did nothing but feint for two rounds. What a snoozer! Cant say I agree with the judges in the end, but not that I really care who won that fight. What stood out the most to me was the fact that Machida's aura seems to have faded out completely. Guy just came in with no heart.

yup and yup. I would have scored it 1 rampage 2&3 machida, but when I heard the result, I was not altogether surprised. Certainly wasn't one of those times where I leaped off the sofa and proclaimed 'what ******* fight were they watching?' (see Machida Shogun 1/Hammill Bisping). Basically seemed like the judges are no longer fooled by Machida's skip-around-the-ring-and-land-occasional-kicks routine. Was just a matter of time til they came around to my way of thinking

I think the only thing more surpising was that Antoine Dobson was there last night. Talk about making the most of your 15 minutes.

+1 I thought wow, I guess they figure "youtube celebrity" is enough to do a closeup.

Phil Davis is one of the more elite prospects in MMA now and has been for some time. He was an amazing, and championship level, wrestler before moving on to MMA. His style is not as dynamic as Jones but I think he might be just as good. His innate grappling ability is something to behold. Go find some of his older fights on the 'net. He and Jones are the future.

It was an impressive fight, but I had never even heard of him before last night. Jones was on my radar before VS.1 and I thought a real player by VS.2. I was just under the impression that you had to have some kind of clout (James Shields) before you fought on a PPV.
