Okay, I love rock music and see lots of concerts. As a child of the 1970s I absolutely love these guys. Saw them three times on their last two tours. Back in DC Sep 25th with tix presale 20 March!

The biggest barrier to entry for Kamakura is the sizing... their fits (Sport, Vintage Ivy, Tokyo Slim, Tokyo Reg, NY Slim....) are difficult to navigate (example, I am 16.5 neck. some of their fits fit me well in neck, chest, shoulders, but are too short in the sleeves, other fits, the sleeves are good, but their sung around the chest and belly....)

All that being said, they do offer good value (IMHO) in quality of construction and fabric compared to price point.

Also, what TSBB said, their Button downs have a great collar.

MTM might be the way to go.

I tried the Kamakura MTM shirts a couple of times, but with a 17.5 in neck, I'm just outside the range of their ability to fit me comfortably. The shirts ended up tight in some places, loose in others.

Anyone have any experience with Hickey Freeman suits since their manufacturing moved to Mexico last year? I was thinking of getting a tux from them, but I'm worried that the quality may not be what it once was.

Thank you!

No idea. Try NMWA x Carrara or Ring Jacket? Sid Mashburn and Paul Stuart here in DC both have good tuxes.

If you want something from the old Hickey Freeman factory with the old Hickey Freeman workers, hit up @Epaulet. They are doing both their own cuts as well as the HF patterns, and patterns from several other makers as well through Rochester Tailored Clothing.

Why not go to rodchester tailoring company? That’s the new manufacturer that used to make for hickey freeman in the us. Shame they moved their stuff out of America

I got a few MTM shirts and a pair of MTM pants from Sid Mashburn in Georgetown, and I was underwhelmed, TBH.

This was before Covid, though, so things may have improved, and maybe they will be better with a tux.
