on the shetlands conversation, some nice crewneck shetlands now available at anglo-italian https://angloitalian.com/products/crewneck-knoll-shetland-wool-green-1

based on measurements, looks pretty close to shetland woolen's sizing in the chest, with a little less length overall (which is a good combo as far as I'm concerned)

Made in Italy so not really an authentic Shetland (for the purists out there). Also the price point is pretty eye watering - plenty more affordable options out there.

Isn’t that price in line with Drakes and J Press? Agree I’d prefer a Scottish made one but the Italians churn out nice knitwear and Labor costs are probably about the same?

Once you minus 20% VAT and then take into account the weak-ish pound, it's about the same as End sells Shetlands for

Edit: that's an exaggeration on my part, apologies. The A-I would be $194, end goes from about 125-175. Either however end up being way less than Drake's at $295

I found it slightly odd that he is quite clearly wearing a navy seed-stitch jumper but they write below that it's the brushed shetland crew.

Looking at a used lambswool Drake's "submariner jumper" on eBay...has some pilling. How well do these debobbler tools work? I have no experience with them.

Sweater shavers? They work great. Get the $15 Conair @dieworkwear recommends.

I’ve also used that defuzzer on a few sweaters that I have shrunk and they work pretty well to remove the appearance of felting at the lowest setting.

Second recommendation for the conair sweater shaver (picked it up after the PTO article) it works great.

Yeah, I'm kind of regretting not picking it up during the factory shop sale - don't really care about lack of hood, it doesn't get *super* cold in England, but eh.
Guess I do have my USN peacoat for cold days though.

I tried it in the store, loved it, very thick and lush. Just couldn’t afford it at the time.
