So, the podiatrist who is an MD, says...your feet have changed. it happens with age and wear. Basically, ALL of the TB lasted boots don' t fit worth a **** any more...cause pain and even leg cramps at night... may have to sell them all...this sucks and I'm not a happy person today. :(

You may already know this, but podiatrists are not MDs. Is it possible you saw an orthopedic surgeon (MD) who specializes in foot/ankle?

Just curious. I know that wasn’t the point of your post necessarily. Sorry to hear about his advice.

My guy IS also an MD and Ortho surgeon....he does surgery 4 days a week, and only sees me as a Podiatry client as I have known him for years....it sucks, but my feet will not do boots any more....:(

I was just splitting hairs, but by definition he’s not a podiatrist (not that it’s a bad thing . . . As you may imagine, I’m biased toward MDs). An orthopedic physician’s training is more extensive.

What are your choices now? I remember previously you were operating under the rule set that wearing boots (or was it shoes in general?) at all times inside was the recommendation.

My guy is also a podiatric surgeon, as for indoor footwear, I have no idea right now. I'm tired of foot issues in my life.

Whiskey Wednesday in the sun and in the office.

With my rotation and the lifespan of commando it may take me a decade, but I really can't wait to resole these to something more forgiving than commando. Maybe waterlock would be the right match. I've got a long time to decide.

If you're up for recommendations, I got these slippers from my wife last year for our anniversary. Drapers of Glastonbury. They are incredibly comfortable. Shearling liner and leather sole with a slightly raised heel. Not slippery at all on hardwood or tile and much more forgiving than bare feet. Lots of different suede and leather colors. I went with purple because that's what Prince would have worn.

O'Connell's stocks them, but I think my wife went direct to the company. O'Connell's says to size down from a half size, but my experience says the opposite. I'm an 8.5D Brannock like you and the 9s fit, while the 8s were too tight on my toes.

Love these boots! Details on the laces? I always swap the Alden flat waxed laces out for Guarded Goods laces, but never tried Red Wings laces.
I’m using 54’’ (you can find this length in the store/“dealership”), but these below are the same.

Speaking of Guarded Goods…just treated myself

All those GG laces!!! Wowowow!!! I stick to the Dark Brown for Color 8, Cigar, and Color 4; Light Brown for Ravello, Whiskey Shell; and Black for Black Shell
