Oh well now I have no idea what to do ?.

@jischwar my 4 other pairs of blue jeans are cuffed 1 to 2 inches, with a 30.5 inch inseam. I have a black pair that’s 30.5 inch no cuff. I am curious about stacking as I haven’t worn jeans like that in years, and back then they were super slim jeans.

Well I'm inherently biased probably since I used to be majority CM and I just think pants look cleaner with minimal break

I think for this year I'm going to expand my style a bit and branch out into some workwear and western styling. I think those along with the repro all look pretty good together and I've got a bit bored just wearing repro stuff.

Some stuff in my want list:

Tecovas Johnny

I have no experience with the Tecovas brand but the look of those classic tan suede roughout boots is something you'll always enjoy. Good choice!

Exactly what I'm thinking! I love the look & they would be my first pair of cowboy boots- think they are very reasonably priced and won't be hit too hard if I don't get along with them.

I’d prefer either some stacking or no break at all, it shows commitment!

Anyone have experience with the McCoys N1 jackets? I really like the Khaki SPL version but would like to know if its's worth the upgrade from the standard version.

Any good recs for furniture? I'm actually in the process of moving as well and plan on starting from scratch.

It's been a hell of a weekend moving myself into a 3rd floor walk-up. I have honestly not exerted that much physical effort in a very long time. Everything hurts and I feel old.

I know ****-all about interior design, but I can tell you what I've been doing. I started by ransacking the Mr. Porter and Ssense home sections for dishware and some decorative ephemera. In the process I picked up some accent-colored wares, which pointed me toward a more neutral, light, modern template for my space. My apartment was painted pale yellow, so that's another reason for keeping it light. I then discovered this thread:

which I've been using for recommendations. Admittedly it steers toward affluent homeowners.

For furniture I depend on for comfort – sofa, reading chair – I quickly concluded you can't buy sight unseen. There's too much uncomfortable expensive crap out there. For my sofa I went to the showroom of the first brand that stood out to me (Blu Dot). I thought their sofas overpriced and not that great for the money.

Next I went to Interior Define, on the recommendation of my friend but also because I had seen it mentioned in the above thread. I was sold pretty quickly, both by the price point (half of Blu Dot) and the number of fabrics and customizations they allow for. I'm no textile expert, but the swatches they provided are solid material, and especially compared to Blu Dot (which only had maybe 4-5 fabric options for the sofa I looked at, and they all sucked). Comfort was the main factor, though. Their down substitute (gel) seat pads are right in line with what I wanted. I took the swatches and model name and went on my way to consider.

I next went to West Elm, where I found one sofa that was in the area of comfort I was seeking. It was somewhere between Blu Dot and I/D in terms of both comfort and cost. I also met with some bizarre Jedi sales tactics a la a Foo adventure: when I asked the sales rep helping me if the sofa I was looking at was included in the 20% sale they were advertising on a giant easel in the front of the store, he didn't register that he was aware of the sale. I had to make a couple different phrasing attempts to get him to even acknowledge the concept of discount, at which point he escorted me to the prominently-displayed sales sign so that we could review the terms. He chose to skip over the first declaration of 20% off all in-stock furniture and instead moved to the latter two lines advertising further discounts on throw pillows and holiday wares. It was not until I had directed my index finger, and his line of sight, to the first line that he willing to entertain the possibility of its terms being applicable to my purchase. He summarily informed me they did not apply.

Next I went to some Canadian furniture store near West Elm (in Chelsea) and was wholly unimpressed.

Finally, I visited Room & Board's showroom. While impressed by the size of the store, and while I did find some of their offerings appealing, I did not locate a sofa that matched the comfort (nor price) of I/D.

I therefore placed an order with Interior Define for the Sloan sofa, with extra deep seats. I chose "Sterling" after exhausting the swatches I had taken, but as I have not yet seen this color in person I am going to visit the showroom again today to confirm I don't need to change my order. Lead time has the sofa arriving sometime around June (about when you will receive your Role Clubs).

While at West Elm, I did find both the Lottie and Carlo chairs to be comfortable, and ended up ordering the Carlo in a vintage green velvet. I also found some modern-style floor lamps that I have ordered, and have filled out many other home sundries needs through West Elm as well.

Design Within Reach is largely out of reach for me, but I have placed an order for two Herman Miller repro-Eames counter stools. Actually, I placed the order with Herman Miller, but they're the same company.

For shelving, I found mention in the above thread of String Furniture and have an order I am putting together for a media center. I'll need to get additional shelving for books down the line.

Whoa, thanks for the write up thats fantastic! I'll have to take a deep dive look into some of those places since I'm starting from scratch I want everything to be somewhat cohesive. Granted, it'll be largely dependent on what kind of space I can find but thats a great starting point.

So I'm actually going to be headed to California, San Diego specifically. Its my hometown, but I've been in Nyc for almost a decade now. I was kind of torn about leaving new york, but after my mom had a recent health scare being closer to family just makes more sense if I need to handle anything. As much as I pissed and moaned about nyc for years I'll still miss it to a degree. I think the east coast in general is more my vibe and I could see coming back years down the road. Time will tell, but for now back to So Cal... sans Role Clubs

I've been very happy with my Sloan and did the same thing you said (extra deep seats and the gel cushioning). We just ordered the ottoman for it this year (2021) since the deep seats can be a little awkward for my 5' 10" frame

I decided a while back, I would never hem my casual pants again. I always change my mind on what I like. Now I have pairs of pants that are a bit too cropped that I wish were longer, and should've honestly just rolled em up or let them stack.

It's cool that this works for you but in my case, keeping them as is (35 inch inseam) isn't wearable. It makes a double-cuff that's much too thick to work with the rest of those jeans.

I respect that approach when everything is wearable give or take an inch, but I'm not the right guy for this, so I still hem some of my pants.

Buyee just blacklisted me for opening PayPal claims against them (they sent me records that were broken in half). They’re telling me I can pay them in order to avoid blacklisting.

Long hair don't care. I got too much existential **** to contend with right now.

As an average height guy with unusually short legs, I have to hem everything. I really should learn to do it myself.
