Unless we see evidence of the suit via pictures, it's all imaginary, like snuffleupagus from sesame street.

Many friends of mine had commissioned suits made by the classic car and offered more than one fitting ( " better than " Dreams which only offered 1 fitting , may be only applied to hifilover only) . However, the suit do not fit as good as he promised ( according to the standard of Mr Classic car to criticise his competitors ) , the back is not clean , the pants is not straight ... etc and use his " professional knowledge " to educate them this is not his fault. Would hifilover pass the good customer services offered by Dreams to Classic car and see if he can offer the same to our friends to remake for free ? If the outcome is good, we will post the picture here.

Hello all, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster.

I'm looking for a Hong Kong tailor who specialises in lightweight and unstructured suiting. My personal preference is wool or linen unlined jackets with natural drape, flap pockets, no shoulder padding and wide notch lapels. I like slim pants with cuffs/turn ups and no break. As a point of reference, I am a fan of the Australian tailor Patrick Johnson's house fit and ideally would be looking for a suit with similar aesthetics.

Is it realistic to get something like this made for $6,000HKD? And if so, can someone please provide a couple of recommendations? It's worth noting that I am open to investing a little more for the right tailor.

Thanks in advance.

Just stay away from Classic Bespoke which is run by Michael

Heard a lot of people find Baotou straight (same guy) instead of need the assitance of Mr Car. Hifilover must be worried about business of his friend and try to promote here. What a kind gentleman!

I don't know is the business mode changed, Car used to said he just "rent" the place to the tailor(it used to be Sifu Lai), he didn't sell cloth, didn't get commission from the order, etc. Did I remember it right?

@Hifilover, you made a very bad move. I don't understand why you made such a move. You did not have to.
The ball is in your court and it looks to me you have difficulty to return or gave up returning the ball.
I always have respected your industry knowledge and your generosity to share your knowledge. However, I am sometimes totally at a loss about some of your actions which are totally not necessary. Best strategy for you now is just disappear. You may come back with another name after some time of consideration as a man of integrity.

Lies comes to mind to damn a tailor to satisfy a personal feud or drive people to a preferred tailor where commission might be earned.

Senszio is another that offers affordable yet high quality bespoke tailoring. They aren't as quick as the 24 hour turnaround. Generally takes a few weeks but if you're in Hong Kong you can do the basted fitting step to speed up the process.

Then publish a full set of photographs of a couple of your commissions rather than blatantly advertise.

That means, both profiles, front and rear all with coat on, same without coat and then the inside of the coat alone to reveal the quality of the finishing.

Having looked at the website there is not so much as one Cantonese master tailor illustrated and the prices are too low to encompass full bespoke garments. The time to produce a suit of 48 hours also suggests far too much machine work and no hand work -72 hours is Saville Row and the better HK houses standard. Instead it bangs on inordinately about Quality Control, important but not such things as hand work. QC is important but far too prominent amongst the reasons for patronising this shambolic organisation. 7th Floor in a scruffy and awkward to find part of TST is not wonderful either.

Do You Consider Sustainability When Purchasing Clothes?

  • Always - Sustainability is a top priority in all my clothing purchases.

  • Often - I frequently consider sustainability, but it isn't the main factor in my decisions.

  • Rarely - I seldom consider sustainability when purchasing clothes.

  • Never - Sustainability is not a factor I consider in my clothing choices.
