Hello all, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster.

I'm looking for a Hong Kong tailor who specialises in lightweight and unstructured suiting. My personal preference is wool or linen unlined jackets with natural drape, flap pockets, no shoulder padding and wide notch lapels. I like slim pants with cuffs/turn ups and no break. As a point of reference, I am a fan of the Australian tailor Patrick Johnson's house fit and ideally would be looking for a suit with similar aesthetics.

Is it realistic to get something like this made for $6,000HKD? And if so, can someone please provide a couple of recommendations? It's worth noting that I am open to investing a little more for the right tailor.

Thanks in advance.

Yes and most HK tailors of repute can handle lightweight cloth. Price depends upon cloth selection which can influence your choice. There is much detail/good discussion to be found in this thread so I suggest that you read it all - you won't find much of it repeated in answer to you. The detail of the suit is not really relevant here as most good tailors will merely see that as the client's choices rather than anything relating to their own ways.

Hay, mate! you just don't want to response?

Excellent question Fishball. Did the incident take place, was there even a suit ordered in the first place? Hifilover seems very reluctant to actually enlighten us so I have to wonder if it happened and that the tailor has been unjustifiably dammed.

Well, as the Canto saying goes, "No Photo, No Truth". Would love to see a photo of Hifilover wearing that ill fitting suit

Wouldn't we all! Somehow I doubt we will as you rightly observe.

How the issue was resolved as well.

Shall we go back to the clothing? Another shameless selfie to get the things going.
This is by another tailor. Brown Crispare and Caccioppolli cotton pants.

I like it. The shoulders might be just a tad too loose depending on your taste, but given this isn't a suit I think it's perfectly fine. Great look!

Thanks for your comment. I asked to extend the shoulders a bit with thin padding. My shoulders are narrow but my head and neck are not slim so I was a kind of trying to find a good balance.
