I was told the other day that apparently suitsupply is changing their factory in China that use to product MTM suits. The change apparently will pull the turn around time to around 2-3 weeks, and the change is expected to go live late December early January

This also means that people that dialed in their fit will probably need to start from scratch again....

I had this with them a few years ago; had a perfectly dialed in fit and then had to start from scratch...results were just salvageable by their in house tailor but very far removed from my old fit. I haven’t gone back since...

I'd like to know what is going on with Custom Made. The section is gone on the new site.

It’s available on the US site but I just switched to Finland, and it now says “This page doesn’t exist” meaning it’s gone for you guys! Either it hasn’t been phased out in the US yet or they are revamping it for everyone and keeping the US under their most recent offerings.

The overall picture of mid-range (pricewise) menswear is in a precarious spot right now the world over. Suitsupply is in a tough spot and better be super wise. It isn’t H&M or Zara. It isn’t Saville Row. Whoever is at the helm right now will either make or break this company especially now that we are headed towards SS’s 20th anniversary, and SS is no longer a teenager but an adult. The recession may be upon us soon and this will be another factor in addition to changing consumer preferences.

I am seeing fewer and fewer decently dressed people no matter if I am in Jakarta, Mexico City or London. The market forces are driving overall dress code toward more and more casual. I still see suits in Tokyo and very few other places

Gentlemen, we are about to stand out even more prominently from the crowds

It's everywhere. Not that Finland is a place where people have historically dressed well.

As for custom made: I hope it's a case of them just revamping the web system. It's still available in the 'tailoring' section.

As someone who has lived in Australia for my whole life and have sinced moved to Stockholm, I disagree. Stockholm is crazy with the amount of well dressed men and women, and I dread moving back to Australia as most of my wardrobe now would be deemed "overdressed" for any occasion or job.
To add to that though, I think it has alot to do with climate. 70% of the year in Australia it's too hot for a wool suit, but I guess that's how brands like P Johnson have managed to boom, as their product is very suited for the Australian climate

I do custom made in the Stockholm Store without a problem. Had a couple of customers today as well just around closing. The factory is having short vacations or something so the delivery has been briefly pushed back to 3-4 weeks.

It's available at the Helsinki store as well. There used to be a separate section on the website for it but that is no longer the case. Is this because they are expanding the programme? I hope so, because I find the lack of an unlined option disturbing.

The Traveler is the only one that comes unlined even in custom made right now. (afaik)

Yeah, that's been the case for a while now. If they do have plans to allow other fits to be unlined, please let us know.

Another thing I'd like to see in the future is the expansion of the jacket options to reflect more closely what is available in RTW. Like also having the Hudson fit (RIP) available in addition to the standard Havana and having the new notch lapel Washington. Give the people what they want!

The notch Washington is not gonna happen. It is full canvas on RTW so it is not included in Custom Made! Write them a mail haha!

There is an obvious solution to that problem: Just make it with a half-canvass. I struggle to see how that can't be worked into the production since the overall silhouette is the same as other iterations. But if that's not going to happen, so be it.

In any case, I'd be happy with an unlined Hudson-type option. I'm basically just sitting here waiting patiently to give you guys my money.

Haha I feel you but I am just a sales rep!
