For me it is nice for a summer/spring event like a wedding but too "happy" for everything else. With a bright personality maybe you can pull it off.

Just tempted to pull on the trigger on the navy sienna birds eye suit of the SS colection. Anyone knows if there's any difference with the fall winter sienna model? Is this model suitable to be weared in summer?

Just get one of the ones I pointed out. This babyue one won't be very versatile. You can only wear it when it's sunny out.

That Hudson does look tempting, but I'm still not 100% sure.

Will probably wait for this:

1000

EDIT:

Just noticed a new fit on their website:

1000

Idk about you, but to me that jacket looks terrible. It appears to be an extremely casual material (cotton?) but it's double-breasted with peak lapels and a ticket pocket? What?

Maybe it's me, it looks like someone put french cuffs on an oxford cloth popover.

I'm not a huge fan of it either, but I don't see the problem with a casual DB jacket, and a DB jacket without peak lapels is a disaster 99% of the time.

It doesn't have a ticket pocket, it has patch pockets which are a casual feature, though I would've preferred a breast patch pocket as well as the side patch pockets.

I'd probably try one out in a different fabric, but this fabric isn't what I'm looking for at the moment.

Has anyone tried shirts from the Jort collection? At 150 euros, they're not exactly cheap.

Ah, I misspoke, I meant patch pockets. To me, personally, patch pockets = casual, double-breasted = more formal. However, that's just my perception. so the two clash, at least to me.

That jacket is bad because of the button stance, but a DB isn't more formal than an SB.

Made my second order yesterday … Madison and Havana suits. About a year ago I got a Havana linen SC. I thought it fit fairly well, but after seeing it in photos over the summer, I think the shoulders are wide and the "skirt" kinda flares at the hips. It was a 36S. This time I ordered 34 Regulars to test the waters again. The SS measurements seem kinda strange to me. The shoulders seem fairly wide across the fits and the waist super small. My best fitting jackets are 36S and measure around 16.5" for the shoulder and 37" in the chest. If I tried to match those measurements on SS's site I'd be fitted into a 32, which sounds way too small. Do people actually size down that much?

Quick question guys. What pocket square folds do you recommend for the madison? The lapels pretty much suffocate the pocket!

Booked a MTM appointment where I am planning to replicate a sportcoat as per this post spare a few tweaks.

Four questions:

  1. Does anyone know from SS MTM experience if they have a similar fabric?
  2. SuitUp states full canvased though for this SC I think half with butterfly lining is appropriate — is this an option?
  3. How will pick stitching interact with the hopsack/smoked MOP — should I go 2/6mm or forgo it? Not 100% sure about it's purpose or appropriateness for a sportcoat.
  4. Given an open weave fabric do I need to be cautious about lining colour, I'm a big fan of loud linings.

Cheers
