Anybody have a pair of the j crew red wing irish setter 899 in 9 or 9.5 they would sell?

I'm a couple of months late on this post but I had the same issue. I base my shoe size around a 9.5 and got measured at the red wing store. They told me it was a 10C or something but all the lifestyle stuff fits me in a 9 which is what I've settled on.

The boots are just uncomfortable at first. The break in time is hell. I'm looking forward to breaking in a pair this fall/winter. I just need to find one the right model now.

Yeah, I guess not too many people liked them as J Crew only had them for the one season. Too bad you still didn't have them (I am jonesing for them). The mainline 899's seem too bulky around the welt and I don't like the leather nearly as much as the briar oil slick leather on the j crew version. I actually just missed a pair on ebay that sold last week in a 9.

In my other shoes I am a 11.5 - says that I should size down 1, so I should get these in a 10.5?

^^^ Nice, can't go wrong with those at all.

General consensus is size down a whole size, but make sure where you're buying them from has a decent return policy just in case they don't fit.

just got a copy of this over the weeknd, Japanese magazine "2nd" did a special Red Wing only issue. lots of pics of every model, writeups on each (in japanese so irrelevant for most), photos of guys wearing them, historical ads etc.
