@shoreman1782@the shah@Bam!ChairDance

DC meet up? Just not near the Hill, because despite working nearby, that area is awful.

Club Monaco is stocking ten c and porter - apparently both are selling through pretty well to mall types that come in and apparently impulse buy $2,000 outerwear pieces from brands they've never heard of.

I got through a couple of years with nothing but a pair of stans and a pair of doc martin's I'd dyed french racing blue. I usually have no idea how these 'moments' happen, just like I didn't know they were out of style at some point but as suspected it has to do with marketing.http://www.businessinsider.com/why-everyone-is-wearing-stan-smiths-2015-7 .

I literally have been wanting a pair of these for 30 years. I never bought them because they were white and I normally had to make my shoes last and white were just gonna end up looking like hell.

So when I finally see them come back and decide what the hell, now they are everywhere.

What I would like to see come back is the Reebocks I had in like 1983. They were grey with a terry lining and a soft toe.

I had to go back to your original post to see those horweens. Regardless of construction, the idea behind them just wrong. Stans are Plain White Sneakers -- they are supposed to be clean and simple... and white. I know they're totally overhyped now but nothing will beat the plain white leather versions. Choose whatever heel color you want.

on a slightly related note, I was in LA for the weekend and seems like every other person was wearing Stans. Or common projects or SLP. Along with a ton of drapey tees and leather DRs (even though it was ******* 80 degrees). The item du jour seems to be the black felt boho hat. Thanks Hedi!
I'll weat my grey ones to SF just for you,

I'll let gray slide since it's just "dirty white".

Maybe I've become the SW&D curmudgeon.
"Stans should be white!"
"No leather until it's cold out!"
"Get off of my lawn you drapey tee wearing hooligans!"
"What's with these newfangled hippie hats from 1969!"

Why is it that raincoats hardly ever come with a detachable hood?

I cannot believe how difficult it is to buy a ******* plastic hamburger lamp for a 'reasonable' price.
