Argentina shouldn't have gotten the 4th goal. The ref should have made them spot the ball after the foul. They restarted it 7-8 yards from the spot and caught SK off guard on the break.

Can't argue that point. Still, Heinze takes the most dramatic, blatant dive in the tournament and also hassles the ref for being booked on an obvious handball. It's obvious that Argentina doesn't need the assistance of free kicks to score goals and dominate the game, so I don't know why their player(s) insist on over-dramatic impersonations of Ronaldo.

I never slept on Argentina, for the record. I've always predicted the final 4 will be Spain, Germany, Brazil and Argentina.

If I had my way, it would be USA, Japan, Netherlends and South Korea.

I can't be too disappointed, I had the expectation that Argentina would win comfortably as soon as I saw the group.

I can think of it as 3-1 in my head because of the own goal.

Heh, I'm actually rooting for a tie here.

Fantastic performance by Argentina though it's to be expected from them.

A bit early but any ideas for the golden boot?
Before this morning's match, my bet was on Diego Forlan. He looks on form and well hungry for goals.

ETA: Might as well add Higuain as well.

It's kind of sad because Korea had so many close goals but could never materialize them into actual points

smileys to get the point across. Don't see how Higuain could be considered a golden boot nominee, even after the hat-trick. It could have been any person in his situation to score those goals. They were beautiful set-ups with nothing more than sufficient execution from Higuain. BTW:

Because they picked Veron in midfield, Di Michelis in defence and are being managed by Maradona?

Those are all valid reasons for them not to go very far.

Does it really matter how he gets the goals? As long as he keeps getting into those positions, I could definitely see him up there.

Hence, my initial reluctance to add him. But getting in the right position is also an important quality as a striker, wouldn't you say? I'm sure Fernandes can attest to this.
