Call them to try and redeliver, it should be possible if the driver is still in the area, they'd just call his cel.
Or if you go the whole Saturday free, you can wait until it goes back to the warehouse and pick it up there.
That's only if you really want your flyknit today.

anyone else use the Nike+ training system? i just picked up some Lunar TR1+ with the training sensors and am going to put it through its paces today. having some trouble pairing the sensors but i think it's my wonky Bluetooth on this iPhone.

from what i can see the training programs on the app seem to be heavy on the HIIT and plyometrics (and celebrity endorsers). they were as expensive as fuck so this better be worth it

btw if this is more of a style thread than a training thread, sorry for the threadjack.

i use the nike+ shoe sensor thing for running, and I dig it. Once you calibrate it, its very accurate (on a half marathon it was off by 0.1 miles when i crossed the finish line). super useful for places with bad/no GPS reception. I want to get one of those watches though since i can't be arsed taking my phone with my on runs anymore.

This is only the third pair of nike shoes I have ever had in my life. The other two were both velcro court traditions back in the day. Anyway, I was at the running store today, and after starting totally from scratch in terms of everything from sizing to gait to shape, I ended up with a pair of (adidas ) supernovas, the third pair I've owned - but I also tried on these orange flyknits for absolutely no reason other than they looked really cool. The salesman tried really hard to dissuade me, saying they weren't really good for anything in particular, and I went home without them.

After thinking about them for three hours, I drove back and demanded them - good thing I did, because they were the last pair in my size. They're super, super comfy, and while I probably won't be running in them, I think I'll be wearing them a ton, because I have recently realized that most of the shoes I own are a size too small for me. Really dumb.

Anyway, I think these are too fucking cool, so I took a picture and they're SO ORANGE it's like I am wearing space tang shoes on my feet. Would not hesitate to buy again, but I remembered nike sneakers being like 60$ and these were 150$, which was a little surprising.

(I also tried on the free 3.0 v4 - how the fuck do you guys keep these things straight? - and thought they were awesome, so I may custom-order some of those in a fun color, because all they had where I live is red and grey. Yuck.)

i used to be really into sneakers when i was younger. now i have them more for convenience and sport activity. But the above air max 95 and air max 90s happen to be my favorites. i find them most comfortable.

i am thinking of picking up some of the running shoes i've seen earlier in this thread, i.e. rfx's current lineup

That Nike + training system is ridiculous. Same stuff that'll be in the next Lebrons too right? I'm gonna go pick up this sleeve for Nike+:

Isn't that armband just a place to put your iphone when you run to keep it dry? I've considered it but I am not sold on it yet, let me know how it goes if you get it.

This was tempting to me too but the more I look at it, it becomes more of a novelty, especially the basketball version. It seems strictly made for serious athletes who needs to measure every nano-seconds of their performance. Like the basketball version for example, it measures how high you jump but most do not really need to know that you can jump a quarter of an inch higher on a good day than on a bad day, or how fast you can sprint from one end of the court to the other. I do HIIT and Plyo and really I can just push myself to do more or until I am really exhausted. It's good that it keeps track of it on your phone and you can have records but I never really felt the need to track how many jump squats I could do or how many burpees it took to completely kill me. At the moment, the current features isn't as impressive and doesn't seem worth it but that is me though, others may enjoy it and find it useful. It is similar tot he Nike Fuel band that gives you Fuel Points for tracking your movements but it really does nothing else. I guess it's good if you don't have a watch and you it can do double duty in that regard.

All personal opinion though, let me know if you like it or find other features I may have missed that is important.

I do use Nike+ system for running, the gps watch is amazing. It actually records my runs on the map by pace and even elevation. I hiked Mt. Baldy and it showed how fast and slow I was and how much elevation I was in during which time. I also get to have fun with a community by having challenges on Nikeplus.com, we have groups and we race to a certain amount of miles. It's an extra incentive for running.

Damn, I wish I could walk to a store and see the flyknits just sitting there. Orange does look pretty nice too, after running in my volt Pegasu29, the bright color doesn't bother me as much when doing something active. Not sure I can pull it off casually though, would love to see a fit Synth, always been a fan of your style, even if it is just for sitting around or running errands.

Would love this colorway of flyknits too, Nike needs to make it with a black sole though but it's nice the way it is as well.

Haha, it'll be a challenge to figure out how to work them into a non-shorts fit! I just want to wear them, though, so I'll have to figure something out.

I want to see Synth wear flyknits as well as the SF reaction from it(I think you could do drop crotch pants or something with a loose top and taper below the knee like some soccer pants). That orange colorway is still available in a lot of sizes for both trainers and racers at Finishline. I'm watching a pair of white ones from a local on ebay as well as the all black ones. Still waiting on the pair from Portland Running though :(

I think the sleeve is less about water resistance and more about not having that shit move and fall off your arm. Me and my friend ran Lake Merced this morning and the velcro on his came loose and his iPhone would have hit the floor if his elbows weren't bent to catch it.

This thread is a bad idea for me. Have definitely decided that that my next shoe purchase is going to be either the volt or orange flyknit trainers.

Also - you don't necessarily need the sensors now for Nike+, right? A friend of mine said that the iphone app alone (using gps undoubtedly) accomplishes the same purpose as the previous little dealies you stick in the soles of your shoes.

Yeah, I believe the Nike App on the iPhone (also available on Android now iirc) is free and you can use it with any other shoe really. I like the GPS watch because it comes with a shoe pod sensor so when I lose reception it continues tracking my run. I can also connect the watch to a heart rate monitor if I wanted to. There have also been morning where the GPS could not lock in a signal so I had to rely recording my whole run via shoe pod. I have heard others having the same problem with the Iphone App and they are stuck running w/o it, can't really complain much since its free now. I believe the Ipod Nano has a pedometer built in that can connect with NikePlus too, not sure if it had to be connected to the Nike shoe pod though but since it's free now, it's hard to complain about it.

Every time I try to customize some frees I end up with something hideously ugly. Too many little clicky options for me. :foo:
