I like the little details like the blue panel with star stitching in the back. Or is that a pinwheel pattern.

Edit: I’m sorry I didn’t know what Sashiko was, hence my ignorance with the above statement. My bad.

Since Nike announced a big shakeup in the running space, I decided to get a couple of pairs of discontinued shoes to put on ice: the laceless Phantom React Flyknit. I have the first one and I highly doubt a laceless running shoe will be made in the near future. These two were discounted on the Nike site.

They're fine, not like wow but if having sashiko fabric on your trainers is fun why not? Is there a cooler alternative?

anyone else get the Bode Nikes? i got the black pair. the clothes were also surprisingly cool in person, especially the jacket with the embroidered swoosh

I sorta like the beige Astrograbbers, but not enough to try hard to get a pair. I've always had trouble connecting to the preppy side of Americana, so it's hard for me to really like Bode or Bode x Nike, though some of the jackets look nice enough.

The two Phantom React shoes came in yesterday. Interesting little tidbit: they both have a production date in 2023. For running shoes that were introduced in 2020, they are still making them. I don’t really see Nike making running shoes over two years without a refresh or updated model. They usually do a one year run and move on pretty quickly. The Infinity laced version had three revisions at least since 2020.

Free Runs are the only other line I think, that has a model or two kicking around for years since it was introduced.
