Just bought these Church's "Swing" Longwings for £90 RRP £560, from a Church's outlet shop in Cheshire.

I'd call that a Bargain. .

I walked into TKMaxx (TJMaxx in the USA , l believe) today and found a pair of 3 eyelet Solovair shoes for £60 which l felt was a good price , not a sgood as your bargain but still decent . They will be ideal for summer walks with friends in the rustic countryside around here.

They will need a bit of a shine-up before the road test.......................

Was it the best you've ever had?

A good find.

I've been disappointed by TK Maxx since the lockdown ended. My only buys have been kitchenware.
My last clothes buy from them was during the lockdown - a herringbone mac.(Like this, though I paid less than this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114665176651?hash=item1ab293be4b:g:DhYAAOSwg0FgGs3l&var=414830249376 )
Surrender my good life for bad ?

Totally get it on TKMaxx , the rest of the stuff on display was so bad that l was actually a bit shocked by the Solovair shoes find that were almost half price but just what l needed as the heel was worn through on my DM shoes .

I remember having a 'Mille Chemises' western shirt in my rather gauche(!) French phase, before I got in with the Blackpool late mod scene. From the era, I can only remember one person with a Levi shirt, and he was the non-mod singer in a local band. I remember liking the shirt, but deciding it wasn't in 'the look'.

I never saw any in London, during the era.

Somewhere I have an ancient, fraying, western shirt by Wrangler that I haven't the heart to get rid of.
I do quite like them, what is it with the north and western american brands i still see people wear wranglers now, western shirts every so often.

Brooks Brothers jackets turned up from the US today. Four days to get from Houston Texas and Midlothian Virginia to the UK, six days sat in a UK warehouse.
Italian made 1818 3/2 roll in navy and a Colombian made 346 in charcoal herringbone.

£99/$139 all in. £60/$85 was postage and import duty. There's a better selection of gear in the US, so I'll just have to suck it up.

Today is a better day for regular clothing purchasers in the UK as there are more opportunities to wear newly acquired items.

The only thing I have considered are those Uniqlo down gilets, mentioned on here some time ago. I thought they might be useful for sitting in pub gardens which have been perishing cold even in May. The gilets are still on Uniqlo shelves and there were other customers looking at them too.

I will be most annoyed if they dispute that the trousers weren't sent. At least they have only have to be returned to 10 mins from work instead of trans-Atlantic :)
