Had an appointment with Junko yesterday to treat myself on my birthday with 3 new MTM shirts. Two Palpa Panama and a Cotton-Linen blend with some minor fit adjustments since the last order. All button-down collars. As always Junko was wonderful to work with.

Looking forward to posting once received!

Also just placed my first MTM OCBD order, but did so blindly/remotely based on mtm measurements for other brands. Really hoping it works out. I went with the unlined SPORT collar.

I have a feeling that their MTM operation is doing well. There seem to be fewer RTW shirts on the website.

To owners of their chambray shirts, the care label on mine says "This garment is dyed with natural indigo". Do you know if this is actually the case? Asking as natural indigo is rare these days; even most high-end selvedge denim is dyed with synthetic indigo.

P.S. turns out to be this item FWIW: https://kamakurashirts.com/collections/vintage-ivy/products/wlgs04

Hi all,

I am looking to expand my OCBD collection (for casual and formal wear). I am roughly 5'11 and wear a 42R jacket atm.

Would Tokyo slim fit be too tight for me even if I size up from 16 to 16 and a half? As that was the fit and size Kamakura's customer service recommended for me.

Alternatively, I'm considering Kent Wang and J. Press as well.

I’m the same size as you and take a 16.5 in the slim fit and it fits spot on after a couple of wash and dry cycles.

Excellent, good to hear! So you don't fit it too slim in the body or elsewhere?

Out of curiosity, which Kamakura fit would be closest to the BB regent fit?

I think most of ppl wear their shirt half size too small (that's my case too). I used to wear a 14.5 because that's my neck measurement but now I size up to 15 and feel much better because of the extra space around my neck.

Yeah, I got two Tokyo Slim fits in size 15/2 again. Even though I am probably a 16 now, they still fit me (albeit a bit tight)

I figure even if I lose weight, the 16/2 should still fit me.

Does anyone find their quality to be inconsistent? Just got a Vintage Ivy shirt that feels really low quality compared to what I'm used to. Long loose thread sticking out one side (sure I can snip it off, but still). Very messy buttonholes: threads in the holes, likely sewn first then cut.

Other Ivy shirts I've seen don't have these issues.
