Are you seriously incapable of stepping back for 2 seconds and asking yourself honestly if you did anything to escalate the situation? I felt bad for you at first, but if your demeanor towards people here is anything like your demeanor towards people in the real world, rest assured, many people have seriously contemplated punching you in the face before, this guy was just the first one to go through with it.

great assumption right there.

To set it straight, im taking a break from school so I can earn money to pay for the tuition. If I can work for my father and earn money for college at the same time, what ******* issue is there? This allows my father to stay home and take a much needed break that hes deserved. But sure you can view it as some marsupialed scenario that involves me getting hooked up with a job.

Are you seriously incapable of stepping back for 2 seconds and asking yourself honestly if you did anything to make this guy pissed to the point where he decided to punch you in the face? I felt bad for you at first, but judging from your demeanor towards everyone else here, I'm really questioning what you did to earn it.

"get your ******* finger off my face" looks like he had more of an anger management problem than I do. But once again, not everyone is cool, calm and collected in such situations as yourself (and apparently others here). Get off your high ******* horse, I've handled this situation and we'll leave it up to the detectives.

Interviewer: so...tell me about your last role
Asshat: I worked for my father at a carwash place
Interviewer: ahh and how did that end?
Asshat: with this scar on my jaw
Interviewer: sorry?
Asshat: Well a customer pointed at me so I told him to get fucked and then he hit me
Interviewer: You told a customer to "get fucked?"
Asshat: Well actually I told him to get his ******* finger out of my face.
Interviewer: I see. Well...uh...we'll be in touch.

Isn't that what you said to him?

I'd be just as pissed as you, but my natural instinct to not get ****** kicked like you did would force me to swallow my pride instead of do something stupid. I see this happened yesterday and you're still all emotional about it, thats OK and pretty normal. Once you calm down in a few weeks, read all this again, it'll make more sense.

no update yet, am taking the advice of not going overly crazy by calling enterprise and trying to figure out who exactly this guy was. Will call the number I was given though, to check up on the case.

I think we have two totally different definitions of "getting ass kicked". ****** didn't even hit me squarely. But maybe you've had your "ass kicked" before by a ****** punch, i dont know. look, this asshole was confrontational to begin with and no matter how I handled it, with honey or vinegar, this ****** was gonna be an asshole so him sticking that finger in my face wasn't much of a surprise. The punch was what really caught me off guard. To me, doing something "stupid" is giving the asshole a re-wash just to appease him. We have policies for a reason and I'm not gonna bend the rules just to appease an asshole. We're not asking for you to fill out a ******* mail-in rebate. Just a simple receipt that prints out and is easy to hold onto if you choose to. I know, people are gonna disagree and thats fine.

OK, clearly this is going nowhere... let's try it from a different angle...

If you go to work tomorrow, and another customer gets pissed off just like that guy and starts acting just like him, would you handle it ANY differently, or would you still respond the EXACT same way as last time?

I would've left the "take your ******* finger off my face" and replaced it with "I don't appreciate your finger in my face" and I wouldve walked away while calling the cops. Better? And yes this is what I would do if I could rewind and what I will do in future instances. As Ive said before, this asshole wasn't gonna take 'no re-wash' for an answer. So the only part that I could really change is the part where I "ask" him to get his finger off my face. If he still chooses to punch me, I wouldn't be surprised but at least in this hypothetical parallel universe, ill be ready with a pepper spray

so hes pointing his finger at my face? 1. hes still not getting a damn re-wash. **** that. its a policy for a reason. 2. i'll just walk away. He wants to talk to the owner, i'll have him write a letter of complaint. It'll be a waste of his time, so I won't mind 3. 911 What would YOU do? I think you guys are getting the impression that I'm this dick rude motherfucker with an anger problem. Partly true. But understand that most customers aren't assholes like this one and I'll give the customer that re-wash provided you have the receipt. The policy is posted and its clearly visible.
