3 miles at an 8 minute pace. Not bad considering the icy and snowy conditions. Wind chill at 19 degrees.
    Happy New Years!

Half Marathon this morning in Saint Paul, MN. Awesome run... Temps ranged from -5 to -1. I PR'd by probably 2+ minutes!

Congrats on the new PR. Maybe you were motivated by the cold temps to just get done more quickly!

I put in 6.1 miles during the second half of the Outback Bowl and got home just in time to see Michigan take the lead over South Carolina. I guess I should have gone straight to the shower instead of turning the TV on though...

    Ditto.

    Nice! Congrats!

SEC will always prevail in CF. Though I am shocked LSU lost.

But guys, help get us around the world in 2013...

After the loss, all I wanted to do was to run into a snowbank.

10.4 miles today around a trail on a lake. Great run. About 20 degrees, fresh snow coverage, and I was the first person to run the trail with no other people tracks. Plenty of animal tracks. I may have been the only one actually on the trail today. Beautifully quiet.

Good Job Fueco. Tough conditions and still a PR.

Yeah, it gives me hope for knocking another 5-10 minutes off my time. Perhaps if I start training again? I'm not going to complain about that 8:15 pace!

Everyone who ran in the New Year is on the right track. Keep it up!

forgot to post this yesterday - here is my 2012 in review. Hoping to get another solid year of running in. The planned clanedar includes the ESB Run Up, NYC Half, a self supported run across Zion National Park (~44 miles) the Vermont 100, the NYC Marathon and the JFK 50.

    2012 running stats/ highlights:
    238 runs
    1,751.88 miles
a silver buckle at The Western States 100 - 23:12:35
a 1:19:55 half marathon (NYC Half)
    a 4:51 mile (5th Ave Mile)
and although i didn't officially run a marathon this year, i did go on 9 runs of 26 miles or longer

    That's one respectable year!

A friend got into Western States for 2013. I might pace him (assuming I'm recovered enough from my own stupid race (860 miles by bicycle in less than 4 days)).

My running highlight for 2012 was the double marathon at the Ultraman World Championships.

My goals for 2013, running-wise: sub 6 minute mile, sub 1:40 half marathon, sub 1:50 half Ironman run split. Otherwise, it's mostly going to be about cycling this year!

Sick times Sam - and that's a crazy amount of mileage for the year.

Got in 9.7 miles in CP this morning in 1:14:11 - it was brisk out there.

    6.1 miles today for me.

Looks like a great past year guys. Fueco with the Ultra completion, Myles with the buckle, and Sam w/ 3K miles and crazy fast times. Congrats to all 3 of you. Awesome stuff.

Tonight - the only workout for my half marathon a week from Saturday.
1 mile easy 1 mile hard 1 minute easy 1 mile hard 1 minute easy
Then some hard surges with recovery at 6 min pace.
The miles were 522 534. I was helping a friend prep for a sub 17 5k and figured two race pace or faster miles would be a good confidence builder. He will probably do it or at least be very close

Tried to get back into it today to see how my knee felt, it had been a couple weeks before I tried doing a real run....did 4 fast (for me) miles at a 8:45 pace, and it felt surprisingly great - no knee pain whatsoever. I'm very pleased with that, so I'll take another few days off and see if I still have no pain after a run.
