4 miles. Temp at 30 degrees but it felt OK. Snow, ice, and slush made for a "careful" run.

Got in 3.8 miles along the east river this morning in 26:52. Left shin is not feeling great, think I'm getting some tendinitis. May have to dial back the long run this weekend.

6.7 miles this morning, sluggish through the first 5 or so, picked it up in the last loop. Felt okay but it was unusually warm this morning and the mosquitoes were already swarming. :(

Hey guys,

I figured this would be a good place to ask. I'm looking for a calorie counter that I can wear while I run. What's a good (i.e., accurate) one?

your best bet is to use a heart rate monitor and calculate it yourself. I think there are a few things bodybug maybe one? that will do it for you, but a decent HRM is not too pricy and will give you accurate results.
Got 6.5 in last night on grass. Glad to be making up for monday's missed run.
Next two days easy because I am racing 8k on sunday. I am not in shape, but hopefully will break 29 mins at least and treat it as a tempo workout.

6 this morning. Was supposed to have some tempo intervals in there, and I did them, but the tempo was hardly brisk. Completely lacking energy throughout the run, perhaps due to the cold I've been fighting off all week long.

Got out for 10+ tonight with kind of a weird longer distance/strength workout:
2.5 miles up up then 4 sets of 1000 meters moderate>500 meters harder>500 meters easier. The bad footing and hills on the grass loop I did the workout on certainly slowed things down, but it was a very challenging so hopefully it will help me develop a bit of strength.
Tomorrow will try to run 2 easy 6 milers to give the body some rest before an 8k Sunday followed by a long run.
Also did core tonight, but no free weights. :fu: got to start doing that.

I imagine you're racing in Brea tomorrow. If that's the case, I'll be there as well. Good luck out there I'm sure you are going to place.

Me: 18 miles early this morning. Will wrap up the week tomorrow with 58 miles, after the 8k.

I ran the NYRR AL Gordon Classic at Prospect Park this morning. 4miles... it was in the 40's but windy as hell.

My first race in almost 6months. I got into a total depression spiral for getting injured (torn meniscus) and missing the NYC marathon last year. It was such a stupid injury too - I slipped on a ******* root covered in wet leaves during a XC race last summer.

Everything is fine though... I decided not to get the surgery and just rehabbed/walked/hiked/biked back into form.

quevola - I will be wearing bright orange adidas adios flats and black a snails pace uniform. Lots of fast people I know will be out there to whoop ****** but it will be a good rustbuster.
7 am and 5 pm tonight.
So far for the week I am at right around 70 miles. With tomorrow's race will be up towards 80 :)
finally getting back in shape.
