I think I'm ready to start posting some pics to this thread. Any advice on how to take photos? Seems hard to get the selfie right. The bathroom mirror shots here seem rather silly to me. Looks like the best shots are taken outside with help? Lighting seems to be key.

Today I wore every warm piece I could find with a high of 12F/-11C). Double Donegal, lambswool vest, and those 500g Fox flannels. At first I was thinking this wouldn't work (two Donegals), but I think the sizes of the weave are far enough apart IMHO.

@Forper No, but if you look through the thread, you will see that that 99.9% of what is posted here involves a jacket adn probably 98% of that includes a tie of some sort.

Though the tendency (of some) to distinguish style from fashion has always seemed a little bit silly (@Tirailleur1 for an amen).

Given that you are a skinny guy, you should probably look into getting clothes which aren't so loose; both your shirt and your pants look voluminous on you.

If you insist on wearing a tie with jeans, a knit is the way to go. But in general, that isn't going to get much love around here.

Don't take mirror selfies. There are billions of people on Earth. Just ask one of them to take your picture. This (nearly always) works for me, even if they don't speak the same language that I do. If they have a camera, you should also offer to take their picture.

Cloudy days are the best. The light diffuses nicely and you can adjust the exposure if there really isn't enough light. Sunny days can make your photo look harsh and muddled. Of course, good photographers know how to get around that.
