I like it. Wish you had better pictures.

There are too many good things today and too little time for me to compliment everyone at the moment. So for now I will just say that I think everyone killed way better than I.
Several things: - The boxy cut of the suit - The true 3-button jacket - The low armhole and the wide sleeve - The short lapels - The closed quarters - Roomy pants - Lots of break at the cuff The tie is very nice!
I don't think they're too bad, barring being a bit long (are they at your waist?) The boxy cut of the suit, however is the killer here. Shoulders feel long, and it could come in a bit at the waist. I don't feel like the quarters are too horribly closed. I think the point of a 3 button is to really make a focal point at the top of your chest, so it's VITAL that the cut of the suit complements it. It should be making a V toward the waist to echo the lines at the top (imagine the old Japanese flag and you'll have a better picture of what I mean when I say the line fan out from the center.
The 3-button thing was the reason for my mention of a back slide initially. As I mentioned at some point it was that or a 2-button 3 piece that I was not happy with the last time I wore. It recently came back from alteration and will make an appearance next week, but I was in a rush to teach class and did not have a ton of time to decide. For better or worse. In anycase though, to take a number of Acecow's suggestions [IMG] (either from here or PM) here is my entry: -Charcoal Pants (slimmer I think). - Gray 2 button coat with lower button point, more open quarters and longer lapels (though perhaps not the lapels intended). - Light blue shirt. - Burnt umber pebble grain longwings (which are a kind of wing tip). - White cotton PS. - Gold/Lavender silk knit tie. [IMG] [IMG] Now if ya'll will excuse me, my lapels are needed as an extra runway for an incoming 747.

Any similarities between my fit and Spoozy's are entirely coincidental - honest!

FWIW, CinqueColori (actually, under the rules, SeiColori, but who's counting).

Blue
Grey
White
Green
Yellow
Cordovan

One hopes that the fit does not evoke either Ringling Brothers or Fisher-Price (though the inclusion of a red rubber nose or orange fright wig would push the color totals to seven or eight [IMG] )

Nice, Crusty. Like the tie.

Working on my "self picture taking skills"

The tie is green with small orange dots, they look pink in the pic but it's orange, hence zee orange PS
Derek, I think there's a bit too much going on here, pattern-wise. You at least need a plain shirt without the twill, and a plain white square would help too.

Awesome, like everyone else has said.

Everything is fantastic here except the tie, which seems a bit too shiney for the tweed. And you need to button that collar.

CinqueColori:
Shirt - white
Jacket - black (or grey)
Tie - lilac
Pants - navy
Shoes - red (Bordeaux)
Square - pink

Also post 9,000 [IMG]
The square and shoes look awfully close to the same color, but you deserve a pass. [IMG]

Hey there! I was on vacation from WAYWRN, but this challenge was just too much fun to pass up!

Lavender shirt
Fuchsia/navy bow tie (weirdly tied, it would seem)
Brown sportcoat
Green pants
#8 shoes
"Black watch" colored cap

So: Lavender, fuchsia, brown, green, burgundy.
Great look, BB! The cap and bow are great. This style really suits you.

Mike and Acrid are great, but I already commented on them.

The five colors:
White shirt and pocket square
Blue blazer
Green tie
Nantucket Red pants
Brown shoes and belt
Silver buckle and watch (bonus hue)

The whole look:

All colors together:

Shoes:

Didn't you guys just get snow? What are you doing sockless?

It is amazing! I can see Parker's feet from my livingroom [IMG]
Fantastic.

[IMG][IMG]
O/O, the tie is not something I'd wear, but as usual it's fantastically well coordinated with the rest of the outfit.

Five Colour Challenge Entry (worn yesterday):

Grey plaid suit
Blue microcheck shirt
Dark Red (Manton, avert your eyes) tie
Off-white square
Black shoes

Still working on figuring out what to wear with this suit, so the challenge came at the right time to experiment a bit. Probably a bit too much, tbh, but hey, what's life without a little jazziness at times! [IMG]

If it wasn't for the challenge, if I was using the same everything else, I think I'd have gone for a navy tie with some red highlights and something with vaguely similar colours for the square.

Looks like the trousers need to be shortened a fraction more too, based on the full-length pic. Funny, I didn't notice that IRL.
That's a sweet suit. I don't know if I'd have the guts to wear it, but it looks great on you. I think your alternative combo you mention sounds nicer than the one you're wearing, though.

5 COLOUR CHALLENGE....
Afternoon/Evening Gents - Holdfast is my current favourite, Love that whistle...

Anyway...Green Jacket, Pink Shirt, Navy tie, White Hankerchief, Charcoal trousers, Tan shoes.

This is...relatively subdued for you, LC.

Challenge
[IMG]
BLACK Shoes
CREAM Trousers
GRAY Waistcoat
PINK/WHITE Striped Shirt
BLUE Coat
SILVER/BLUE Checked Tie
PURPLE Square
-TTO
Theo, you're killing it as usual. I do think the square is perhaps a bit too close in color to the blazer, but that's a very small quibble.

Edit to add: MKtitsworth: Your best fit yet, by far. A darker tie would have been better, but this is a huge step forward.

I really like this, acrid. I think pink and brown often look very good together, but I'm afraid that most other people don't so I often talk myself out of pink/brown combos before leaving the house.

You always have nice ties. Today is no exception.
You haven't been around long enough to know how ironic that compliment is. But thanks! [IMG] It means I'm making progress.

P.S. Nobody on this site mistakes sartorial compliments for untoward passes.

Didn't need the tie. Also, chose to interpret this challenge as a call to for a little boldness:

1) Pink shirt
2) Off white jeans
3) Brown SC
4) Burgundy captoes
5) Blue polka dot square

Extra points for the salt and pepper hair.

My first post on WAYWRN.
Here's my "young & fresh" twist on CinqueColori for FRIDAY challenge.

The biggest problem I ran into, was taking pictures...
I couldn't took a picture of myself with right angle, to show the colours and fit properly.
Forgive me, but after countless tries, I gave up and decided to just display the items

1. Navy suit
2. Lavender shirt, with contrast white collar
3. Brown Tie
4. Orange/Yellow/Green (count 1) Pocket square
5. Burgundy oxfords

Bonus points: no black, no white, no grey! [IMG]

[IMG][IMG]
[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Could be a major contender, but hard to assess without the outfit on.

^ New suit on Monday, yes. Someone once asked if I colored my hair gray. The look I gave her was similar to the left most pic.

really? i think the shoulders and waist suppression are pretty good (best he has posted yet - i agree).

however a striped suit jacket that looks very much like an odd jacket coupled with the overly wide (at least for his frame) bellied lapels and color choices makes it hard to stay its a "huge step" forward.
